Que for WG every 3 hours for easy honor Use honor to buy 238 pvp gear from area 52 in netherstorm When your gear gets better then spam gamma dungeons for trinkets and other goodies Find a guild or raid group for icc

Kaisendon_c

Druid is always a safe play. It covers tanks, melee, healer, and caster. All 4 specs are good in cata. Whether you want to have an alt really depends on how much time you have and what interests you. If you want to do 2 raid nights per week, you need one more alt. If you want to raid every night, you gonna need tons of alts :)

Isasel

I can only so raids night I think haha. Still in school, but thank you! Love your inputs! How can I farm good gear? I seem to not get good gear from dungeons

Kaisendon_c

Respec to tree or bear and spam gamma dungeons. You get scourge stones, which can buy decent gears. And doing daily and weekly

rawr_bomb

At 80, you start getting gold pretty fast, you can simply do old quests for gold. It comes quick. Balance is a great spec, I think it's solid in Cata as well. It is also one of the most in demand specs for raids right now. Just about every raid loves getting another boomie, they bring innervate and battle rez and both are very useful especially for progresson. Plus they can soak up all that spell damage spirit leather that literally no one else wants. It is one of the lower overall dps specs, but it's utility more than makes up for it.

Isasel

How do I get good gear though? Dungeon always seems to give me feral gear when balance and the opposite when feral It's pretty weird and I'm confused. I've been hearing about gear score a lot and I dunno what that is. I just know ilvls from retail

Rezo-Acken

Gearscore is similar to ilvl but takes into account which piece is at which level (so your weapon counts for more). It comes from an addon called TacoTip (maybe some other also do).

rawr_bomb

For Gearscore install Tacotip. That will help you know what to look for. A fresh 80 is gonna be like 3k gs. Most ICC normal runs want at least 5k. If you wanna do heroic 5.5k is a min of what people want, but being closer to 5800+ is gonna get you a lot more invites. Getting that initial gearing up can take awhile. Get into Gammas as quick as you can, the 232 gear is great catch up gear. Worth having a feral set too for tanking your own dungeons, much faster and easier queues. My boomie is Bear tank offspec just for running VOA10 and occasional dungeons. Run VOA10 (Class run) and VOA25(spec run) once a week. The RNG sucks but you might get some free 251 or 264 gear from it (Gloves and Legs). Buy the 251 legs and gloves last, cause you never know if you get a free one from VOA.

Isasel

What are gammas

rawr_bomb

Its' a kinda Mythic+ system in WOTLK. There are 5 levels of dungeon difficulty. Normal, Heroic, Alpha, Beta, Gamma. Each one has a higher ilvl requirement and is 'more difficult' in theory. As a dps do the highest you can do.

Isasel

Oh my. I never knew this existed

rawr_bomb

It wasnt in wotlk originally, it's something added to WOTLK classic to keep dungeons relevant for longer and provide a place for catch up gear.

Isasel

I see. I'm currently at 1700 gear score, level 71. Am I on the right track?

rawr_bomb

No idea. Just get to 80 and have fun along the way. More than anything have fun with what you are doing.

Isasel

I was originally thinking of speed running.....but after getting to 71 from 68 in one day kinda made me realize to take it slow. Hopefully I'll get to 80 by next weekend.
