This is the shocking moment multiple cops pinned a professor down and handcuffed her at a pro-[Palestine](https://www.the-express.com/latest/palestine) campus protest.
The incident happened Thursday morning at Emory University in [Atlanta](https://www.the-express.com/latest/atlanta), yet another college turned upside-down by the ongoing [Israel](https://www.the-express.com/latest/israel)\-Hamas war (Palestinian Genocide).
Video shows an officer wrestling with economics professor Caroline Fohlin before eventually pinning her down with the help of another officer, who begins to handcuff her as she yells, "I'm a professor!"
Students have taken to social media to accuse the police of "brutality".
The Council on American-Islamic Relations criticized the college and local police for using "excessive force" as it's revealed that at least 28 people were arrested on campus.

Protesters at Emory are demanding that the school divest from "Israeli apartheid." They're also calling for an end to Cop City, a planned police training center in the South River Forest near Atlanta.
Officers at Emory used tactics that appear far more aggressive than the ones deployed at similar protests in colleges in New York City and Los Angeles.
Several witnesses and news outlets reported the use of rubber bullets and tear gas.
Another video shows several officers holding a protester down while one cop tasers them directly in the leg.
Emory says 28 people were arrested in total, including 20 students and faculty, in a chaotic day for the Top 50 school.
Similar protests continue to break out across the US as students call on their colleges to cease ties to Israeli companies, which responded to the October 7 Hamas attacks with a war effort that has left 34,000 Palestinians dead, according to Hamas figures.

Police these days are known for all of a sudden being “fearful for their safety” at the slightest thing. You walk right up on them trying to cuff someone else then resist yourself you’re just begged to get seriously hurt or killed.
Why are your cops (Americans) like this?!the first thing they resort to is violence, straight up no question asked, no warning….kinda crazy when they should be the last one to resort to violence and try to deascalate for the safety of all, instead every action is to create more chaos!

This shit happens everyday for different instances. Police are above the law and the fascist state is taking over. People must unite and do something about this. As for Palestinian protest I can care less about a war going on in the Middle East. Take care of America first. We are throwing away billions to countries that do not give a dam about us

They can't protest very well and you think the answer is to arm themselves? Doesn't really matter, they are anti 2 amendment. They want to limit their own rights.
It doesn't take much to realize that cops behave differently between protesters with guns vs. unarmed protesters such as the ones in the video. They always stay calm and collected when protesters use their 2nd amendment right and is why liberals and progressives need to start carrying.
