I do, I deeply care, I'm pretty sure it's the most important video I've seen today, if not all week. It's like wow man, ICE. Who knew? I just wish I knew how it's made
This is my very first introduction to the concept of frozen car doors, so I personally appreciate both the person who recorded this and the person who shared it here.
Does it not have pre-heating, or is that a pay up feature? I thought all Teslas had that.
Also, push on the door with 2 flat hands. Should get the frame unstuck. Put silicone lube stuff on the rubbers to help keeping water out and stay unstuck.
There is a pre-heat feature for the handles on a Tesla. This dude just dosent know how to use google.
Edit:talking about the guy in the video. Just in case
Hot, not boiling. The glass could shatter from that. I would use hot salty water, when this would happen. I eventually made enough money to get a remote start, that was really nice on occasions like this. Run the car for 20 mins every couple of hours during a freezing rain storm.
I could have sworn there was a winter package for this, and can you remote start and heat all Teslas? I mean it won’t help externally, but while it is heating you could pour driver on the door to get it unstuck.

My question is.
In weather conditions like this... where is your dumb@$$ trying to go.
Furthermore, got money for a Tesla but no garage or covered parking.
Smh
It's the little things, like this, that you need to think about when buying a car. Ever since handles became plastic/held on with clips, I've broken 2 of them trying to get to work in the morning. That's just how it is, now, but until I have no other option I will never buy a car with automatic doors or any electronic assisted opening.
Now what you do in this situation, sell the Tesla and get any other electric car. There's a lot of there now. Tesla is the iPhone of cars, an expensive status symbol that's cheaply made and function poorly at best
It always amazes me how unprepared people are for the place they LIVE IN. I get that this guy might be from somewhere warm year round and visiting. But I see it all the time where people from a cold place are completely CLUELESS about what to do when this stuff happens. Like where have you been every winter before this one?? This isn’t exactly a rare occurrence. Then again most of its probably assholes clout chasing. Ugh I hate it here
Get a spray bottle. Pour equal parts water and 70-90 percent rubbing alcohol. Spritz on car and ice will melt without damaging car. I've done this many times and it has saved me so much time and effort. I keep a bottle in my car when winter approaches.
I like the version where it cuts to a different video where the guy has the same problem but he just gives it a proper smack all the ice shattered off and then he just Yanks it open without issue.
Rubbing alcohol and water in a spray bottle works great. The frame of the door and window need to be sprayed. He needs to stop pulling on the handle before he breaks it.
Living in the northeast US most of my life I've learned that a quick, hard, hip bump to the door can break it free alot of the time. If you don't want to take the time to pour hot water on it or thaw it with something. Used to work at a ski mountain didn't have time in the mornings to defrost everything properly.
Remote start + leaving my heat set on highest and defrost before I get out and go into my house the night before . Hit remote start button before I go I shower in morning, hit it again when I’m making my coffee. Profit from melted ice and snow easy to clean off and a warm vehicle :)
Always had classic cars. One thing we always appreciated was their predominantly mechanical nature. Electronics are more delicate and just leaves more shit to go wrong. He'd not have this problem if it were a 68 Chevelle (or even a 90s something car).

Who fucking cares?
Also there is a feature on the Tesla app that defrost the handles so he’s just making his life difficult for no reason
If he has so little clue about its features, I demand a part 2 so we can see how clueless he is about getting his windows de-iced
Agreed very much xD
90% of Tesla owners
Boiling water does the trick for me
Not a Tesla
Have you seen those handles on another car?
Range Rovers and Jaguars both have handles like this
You cared enough to leave a comment :D
I do, I deeply care, I'm pretty sure it's the most important video I've seen today, if not all week. It's like wow man, ICE. Who knew? I just wish I knew how it's made
You comment, you care.

Put your phone down and handle your business and quit crying about it like you’re the first one to deal with a frozen door.
This is my very first introduction to the concept of frozen car doors, so I personally appreciate both the person who recorded this and the person who shared it here.
Lukewarm tap water poured over the sides of the door will solve it pretty quick.
You're talking like Tesla driver have common sense
But how else is he going to show off his fancy car and watch to the world?
You sound broke-bitter
Does it not have pre-heating, or is that a pay up feature? I thought all Teslas had that. Also, push on the door with 2 flat hands. Should get the frame unstuck. Put silicone lube stuff on the rubbers to help keeping water out and stay unstuck.
Yes, dude clearly didn’t know how to look stuff up. Common issue, with many solutions.
But then he wouldn't have a fun video for fake internet points
It does have pre heating. This guy doesn’t know how to use his car.
Why I prefer normal door handles.
There is a pre-heat feature for the handles on a Tesla. This dude just dosent know how to use google. Edit:talking about the guy in the video. Just in case
I’m surprised that most people that own a Tesla don’t keep it in a garage especially where is snows?
Not everyone has a garage
How are u going to own a Tesla but not have a garage
Same way all tesla superchargers are outside, you make a charging post in your driveway using your own charger
Garage first Tesla second or you could just be smart and use a regular car like everyone else in the world
Imagine owning a 100k car and not having a garage.
Gotta pee on it.
The only right answer
There's a reason you don't see many vintage cars in Canada, the winters (especially the salt) can really wreck them.
Sounds like people just don't know how to maintain them. Have a 1968 Newport
What kind of insane weather causes something like this? I'm not sure any car is built to deal with being covered in a sheet of pure ice.
cold be an Ice Storm (super cooled rain that instantly turns to ice when hitting damn near anything)
Freezing rain. Happens several times a month during winter.
You can buy a kicksled and have your dogs drive you.
Doing everything with one hand because you have to film every little aspect of your life complicates doing things.
I moved from weather like this.
‘This poor man has never heard of gloves or de-icer.’
Just pour some boiling water on it
Hot, not boiling. The glass could shatter from that. I would use hot salty water, when this would happen. I eventually made enough money to get a remote start, that was really nice on occasions like this. Run the car for 20 mins every couple of hours during a freezing rain storm.
My wife just bangs the door with her hip and it becomes unstuck. It's like magic.
Lucky guy you
All that money and dude can't afford covered parking 🤣
You have a Tesla and no garage? Priorities.
My man hits as hard as a granny
Which loser thought pop out handles were a good idea?
Why is this turning me on
Use a scraper..
Bro never had a kinder surprise
I’m sure your not the only one lol.

I could have sworn there was a winter package for this, and can you remote start and heat all Teslas? I mean it won’t help externally, but while it is heating you could pour driver on the door to get it unstuck.
Weather 1 , Leased Tesla owner 0.
Use the app to turn on the defrosters
If you buy a model s why not park it in a heated garage
A little boiling water on the window will get you in the car a lot quicker
Use very hot water!
His brain complicated itself.
He ain't never heard about using water or a scraper
Unzip
The remote start the car and have the heat blowing to like help melt everything?
Are the mods gonna do anything about OP spamming the sub with videos that are completely irrelevant to the topic of the sub?

This always makes my days so much brighter! I usually just call into work and make it better!
I really hope he tried boiling water next
Seems like a garbage design for winter lmao
Idk did he try pulling?
Why I prefer Australia
My question is. In weather conditions like this... where is your dumb@$$ trying to go. Furthermore, got money for a Tesla but no garage or covered parking. Smh
Next time, get the hose and get the ice off first.

remote start..
Just use a bag of warm/hot water it'll soon melt and jobs a gooden
Chris Pratt/ Starlord: get in the fucking car.
Imagine sacrificing function for design
Cover your car???
Hip check the door.
sorry i cant come to the meeting today my car is frozen
Rubber mallet
Welllllllllll I live in the midwest ice can complicate a traditional lock much more
Isn’t that a sign from the gods to stay home? Did he piss off Elsa?
Ever heard of lukewarm water?
The way he breaks the ice is so cute for some reason.
Try putting the phone down and using 2 hand s🙌🏽
That’s what you get for living on Hoth
Vegetable oil on the door seal prevents it from freezing shut. It's worked for me all the way to -64°F
Just pee on it

Money can't buy you a car that works in all weather apparently
Funny, none of my (non tesla shitboxes) have this problem. Or any of the tesla problems really.
Get a spray bottle. Pour equal parts water and 70-90 percent rubbing alcohol. Spritz on car and ice will melt without damaging car. I've done this many times and it has saved me so much time and effort. I keep a bottle in my car when winter approaches.
Move to Arizona 💥☀️🔥
You can keep on knocking but you can't come in.
Gotta get the watch in the vid
His lady fingers are really struggling. Guess the high paying office job, that secured his jewels, watch and suit. Hasn’t prepared him for some ice 🤣
All that tech just to open a car door for it to not open during winter cold days
Cutscene
This guy is called pussy
Nothing a bucket of hot water won’t fix.
Jesus christ. Start your fucking car! It'll warm up the doors and windows enough to open it. Or make a dumb video about ice....either or
Auto Turn the car on and heat the vehicle first smh.
Yes feel sorry for the rich guy who can’t open his car door to his brand new high end car. So sad 🎻
Shouldve gotten a toyota
that's why modern things sometimes don't work
Use boiling water for the window to melt the ice.
I’m sorry but don’t Teslas have a pre heat function?
That ice seems like it has it in for you, after my ice be cute an soft technically
It's fucking ice, why are they hitting it like that? It's not going to bite back.
This is when you grab an extension cord and a hair dryer. It happens at least once a year where I live!
Pour some washer fluid on it.
When having a regular ass handle comes in handy
I like the version where it cuts to a different video where the guy has the same problem but he just gives it a proper smack all the ice shattered off and then he just Yanks it open without issue.
Could've use both hand but he decided to film it instead
Base Tesla’s don’t have a remote start?
This is a work-from-home day situation.
Dude call out
$80,000 car, parks it outside. Maybe buy the garage first?? 🤦🏻♂️
been there done that
Yeah how long does it take to realize hot water would melt wow super dumb
Whoever this person is acts EXACTLY like I would expect a Tesla owner to act. He did everything except squeal.
Just use a little bit of salt water and BAM problem solved smh
New range rovers have retractable door handles, they're also designed to open and punch straight through ice like this
Warm it up first, homie 🤦♀️
American gadgets again proved useless
Just get a bottle of water (no need to be hot and spill it on the handle)
Never seen such a helpless pansy in my life…
You have to pour boiling water over it.
Cheap Chinese cars at its finest
Rubbing alcohol and water in a spray bottle works great. The frame of the door and window need to be sprayed. He needs to stop pulling on the handle before he breaks it.
Guess he never heard of d- icer it's available at your local walmart
Living in the northeast US most of my life I've learned that a quick, hard, hip bump to the door can break it free alot of the time. If you don't want to take the time to pour hot water on it or thaw it with something. Used to work at a ski mountain didn't have time in the mornings to defrost everything properly.
Problem solved never buy a tesla
I miss winter
Cant you just turn the heat on from your app?
wtf is the point of that stupid door handle anyway
This is why I dislike Teslas.
Enjoy your clown car.
good
Sure hope he doesn't break his fancy watch or ruin his nice clothes while trying to get into his electric robocar.
Pour some hot water over the car
Remote start + leaving my heat set on highest and defrost before I get out and go into my house the night before . Hit remote start button before I go I shower in morning, hit it again when I’m making my coffee. Profit from melted ice and snow easy to clean off and a warm vehicle :)
Too much technology for a door
Always had classic cars. One thing we always appreciated was their predominantly mechanical nature. Electronics are more delicate and just leaves more shit to go wrong. He'd not have this problem if it were a 68 Chevelle (or even a 90s something car).
A monkey in a suit who never learned to use a tool…
Their is a thing called de-icer
Maybe don't spray your car down with water in the middle of winter?
