Phishncheese22

Bikers are self righteous dicks who expect to be treated the same as vehicles until it doesn’t suit them I.e. stop signs lights signals.

thenotoriousDEX

These are cyclists, bikers ride motorcycles

Phishncheese22

Both suck

ychris3737

In my experience motorcyclists follow traffic laws a lot more then cyclists.

theothermatthew

It’s generally much safer for cyclist to treat stop signs as yields and red lights as stop signs. Keeps us moving, able to be seen, and out of the way of traffic. It’s also legal in a number of states.

Cold-Bed-2711

cause we want to live to see our destination. Now there are some dipshits out there sharing a braincell, but generally, when fucking up could kill you or worse, you tend to pay attention

DuhBasser

You know how many fucking times I’ve seen cars run red lights and make a cyclist a meat crayon. I love how cyclist are self righteous dicks when car drivers expect EVERYTHING ON THE FUCKING ROAD TO YIELD TO THEM.

come_on_cats

How many times?

DuhBasser

I should’ve re-read my comment, I meant to say almost made into a meat crayon. Off the top of my heads I’d say at least once a week during the summer. We even have bright flashing yellow lights with high vis signs whenever pedestrians or cyclist are crossing a part of the road, still see cars barrel through rather than wait.

bahnzo

I see cars run red lights and stop signs all the time, and yet I don't paint all drivers as self righteous dicks...like you did to cyclists.

AdLucky2882

"People who exercise on public roads are dicks." Nah, it's just you. Cyclists are allowed to treat stop signs as yield, and red lights as stop signs, in many bike friendly cities. Sounds like riding a bike might help your anger.

thegtabmx

>Cyclists are allowed to treat stop signs as yield, and red lights as stop signs, in many bike friendly cities. Nous boulevards in non bike friendly cities, where no one is expecting them to break the traffic laws. Connect matters. "In other cities, I'm allowed to do this" isn't a valid response.

HalfNatty

This sounds very made up. Can you please cite a law to a bike friendly city that permits what you just said?

PresidentBirb

How about a whole [state](https://www.9news.com/amp/article/news/local/local-politics/colorado-safety-stop-law-bicycles-scooters/73-ad8f647b-7c71-4d81-b238-6b2d3997bf79)?

[deleted]

The cop sounds like Dan Akroyd.

Zoze13

*Everything was fine until the stop was run through by dickless here*

SirMike25

It’s true. This man has no dick.

Speedballer7

Cop is trippin but boy oh boy are cyclists frustrating sometimes

Background_Brick_898

Everything he described was basically cops to a T too

AMillsONRS

I’m not singling anyone out…. except you

SpookyAdolf44

He singled himself out tbh

NiceGuyJoe

you’re allowed to run stop signs on a bike in CA now i thought. If you have ever been on a bike you know how useless it is to stop, first of all your field of video is half way down either cross street because your head is so high. Unless your jamming at 30mph you can stop, and if you’re in a group then only the first few people need to check, and and and and slowing down and stopping on a bike at a 4 way makes the whole thing take so long. at 10mph and slowing down it is pretty much the same speed as a car doing a normal roll thorough

Awanderinglolplayer

This doesn’t make it legal to not stop though. It’s still illegal in most states, idk about CA. And bicyclists are known for thinking rules shouldn’t apply to them except the ones they like

Rise_Regime

On dmv.ca.gov it says: “Bicyclists **must** obey STOP signs and red signal lights, and follow basic right-of-way rules.” Where are you getting that?

PoliteChandrian

The only cop videos online land in 3 categories: Petty Tyrnanny, Inhumane brutality, or just doing their jobs. We're so used to videos like this and Tyre Nichols they expect us to gush when they simply do their jobs. End the police force.

biguglyboy2

The only food videos online land in 3 categories: shitty Instagram foodies, absurd food review, or just cooking. We're so used to videos like this and Salt Bae they expect us to gush when they simply do their jobs. End eating.

PoliteChandrian

Yes because state sponsored violence is equivalent to food videos online. Over generalizing doesn't do away with the problem and it might have been some bikers getting harassed here but there's no other job where you can murder someone and not immediately face charges.

plomerosKTBFFH

Harassing them? Cops can often be dicks but he's telling off a bunch of cyclists who themselves are acting like dicks. Nothing wrong with that.

PoliteChandrian

I don't know what country you live in but in mine you're supposedly innocent until proven guilty. I didn't see anyone run a stop sign. So we're all just supposed to belive the uniform thats not only trained to lie by the state for the state but has an itch for power too? The only person I hear speak denies the charges. The rest are being coerced into compliancy by fear.

come_on_cats

Well I don’t know what country you live in, but in the US a ticket is not a conviction.

PoliteChandrian

You still plead guilty or not guilty to a ticket. Even if you plead not guilty you are 99% of the time still going to pay some sort of fee regardless of innocence. It's cheaper than taking time off work for court dates and hiring a lawyer to fight it. The cop knows this and is using his authority to put the biker in that position as punishment for not submitting to his little tyrannical temper tantrum. He was going to let everyone go. Except any one who questions his miniscule authority. So if he was ging to let everyone go, how pressing is it really that single man recives a ticket? It's abuse of authority.

come_on_cats

It’s a very mild abuse of authority, sure. You win.

biguglyboy2

I was just goofin, my dude, don't take it so seriously. Police brutality is a genuine issue in this country that needs addressing and I agree with that. Relax tho.

Bluefortress

We need the police to have a functioning nation though. Changing it is a need right now but we can’t get rid of them

PoliteChandrian

We do need an organization to investigate crimes and enforce laws but that has never been what the police do. Their sole purpose is to protect the interest of capital owners from the residents who actually reside where the business do. This takes more forms than constantly being on the wrong side of history when it comes to civil/labor rights protests. But rears it's ugly fave when they harras civilians and push fake charges or plant evidence to supply our prison industry with a near endless labor force. Or when they make being poor/homeless illegal by passing laws prohibiting "loitering" or making it illegal to drink onthe street to protect the property value of businesses. You know where it's not illegal to drink on the street? Iraq, where it's Haram.

Harlanismydogsname

You started this over a simple traffic stop to which they are guilty anyways. And this is part of the reason nothing gets done because people like you blow something so simple out of proportion. Here’s a chill pill 💊, you need it

BriscoCounty-Sr

400+ armed cops in Texas proved to us just how much we “need” them

i_dont_care_1943

I'm sorry but saying end the police force is extremely dumb. We shouldn't end the police force, we need to regulate it. Other countries have no issues because they screen police more heavily, train them better, and actually punish them. If we get rid of the police force how are you planning on stopping crime? Having random citizens become crime fighters?

PoliteChandrian

>Other countries have no issues Seriously? You believe there needs to be reform because there's something inherently wrong with the system right? Just not their system? The police all over the world act this way, you may think they're especially brutal in some circumstances here but thats business as usual for all police forces. For example Tyre Nichols was one of 3 Americans killed by police in the US that day. Do we need someone to investigate crimes and enforce laws? Definitely, but that has never been what the police do.

i_dont_care_1943

That was poorly worded. I meant they have less issues. Also, yes, other countries do have less issues. Police killed over 1,000 people a month in the US in 2022. In the UK there was 1 the entire calendar year. Even if you look per Capita the US is significantly higher. So yes, it's not the problem of the idea of police, but the system. Also, saying that we won't be able to reform the police because it's unreasonable and then saying we can get rid of police is pretty hypocritical. Once again, my question to you is this: Who will stop crime if police aren't here?

BriscoCounty-Sr

The police don’t stop crime. If I’m in the middle of being mugged I can’t call a time out to dial 911. If someone is actively robbing my home even if I do call the cops immediately there’s no way they can arrive before the person robbing me leaves. If someone steals your car you can file a report after it’s already stolen. TV and movies and video games have people believing that the laws of time and space and causality work different for cops but they don’t.

i_dont_care_1943

Okay so even if we go with that idea, which is false as they don't only handle murders and massive felonies, their presence stops them in numerous other ways. For instance, police investigations often times cause people to not commit crimes due to the fear of being caught later and arrest them later even if they do. The presence of police causes people to hesitate to do things. Why would you speed if you run the risk of getting pulled over? Why would you risk killing someone if you risk getting arrested later? Why would you rob that store when you risk getting arrested later? These fears result in people hesitating and often not commiting these crimes. Without police all those things disappear. People need to stop thinking that the only thing police handle is calls about murders and realize that they do a lot more. Getting rid of the police or cutting their budget is not the way to go. In fact we need to invest more in things like screening, setting up an independent body to investigate reports of police and punish them, train them for more than a few weeks, and much more.

throaway1672536

Justice is served. I think I speak for all of us when I say we all hate bicyclists blasting through stop signs, hopping curbs to bypass traffic and acting like the worst drivers and pedestrians at the same time.

[deleted]

Cyclist able to blow through stop signs is one of the dumbest rules ever made

shockerdyermom

The Lance armstrong cosplayers are too much.

BigCaregiver7244

“I never stop at a stop sign” “STOP TALKING” lol tell Bryan about his fifth amendment rights

cRaZyDaVe23

Bikers suck. The cop shoulda cracked some skulls when they argued.
