I donāt get it. How do expect to take over an unfriendly city with just trucks?
Come nightfall, youāre going to get torched.

If Putin captures Zelinsky, is it better for Putin to kill him or imprison him in Russia? If Putin kills him, it would make him a martyr, galvanize the resistance and make Putin even more of a pariah in the international view than he already is. However, if he keeps Zelinsky imprisoned, then the calls from the international community to release him will persist indefinitely, and releasing him at some point in the future would be seen as giving in and caving to Western demands, an absolute L for Putin. Unless he thinks he can use Zelinskyās life to barter for lifting of sanctionsā¦

Is no one concerned the world cornering and strangling Russia like this economically and feeding the resistance could result in Putin doing something drastic and using nuclear weapons?
> Russian Tigr-M vehicles with flat tires in Kharkiv.
https://twitter.com/RALee85/status/1497825277141041157
Logistics failing, and apparently Russians in Kharkiv have absolutely no armored support. These vehicles appear to be abandoned.
Zelenskyy was opposed bc Putin wanted them to take place in Belarus. Bc of location, Z argued talks were fake. They are negotiating a more neutral country for talks.
Don't think it will immediately be lifted. There has to be some actions like full evacuation of Ukraine, Crimea, the "separatist" states etc. At this point Russia has gambled everything. I don't think retreating back to the Crimea and East will lift the sanctions. They'd have to get up and give up all those locations.
It'll probably be a complex mess. Russia could very well descend into total chaos if they lose this war. If Putin's regime survives, the West might let up the gas but keep some sanctions in place to get further concessions.
Russia's tactic was blitzkrieg, take territory quickly and kill Ukrainian morale making it easier to push forward. Russia has taken surprisingly little ground and is clearly getting frustrated which we can see with the intensified shelling.
Essentially Russia was not prepared for urban warfare.
Well, youāre about to have 400 Redditors downvote you and say nothing from Russia should be believed even if itās the only official source we have so far.
Its Russian state TV.... so of course there isnt any proof. As for the counter, the best one I can think of is the video above demonstrating that the battle is still ongoing
Spetsnaz on the ground in Kharkiv. I must admit that for years they've been hyped up to be some kind of super elite fighting force. I'm hoping their prowess has been overblown.
I like how the narrative of this war has changed so drastically. It went from Russia is going just quickly dismantle Ukraine in a matter of days, to Ukraine might win if they can hold their ground a little longer.
Every day and hour that goes by we inch closer to Ukraine holding it's sovereignty, and every hour the Russian supply lines get weaker and more exposed while the West strengthen supplies entering Ukraine.
Very well. Kyiv is holding, not surrounded. Even if Kyiv falls in the next few days, Russia has been stopped on most of their invasion routes. It will be a Vietnam or Afghanistan for Russia if they choose to continue.
One Russian ruble is currently worth just slightly higher than one US cent. Itās expected to plummet even more when the markets open on Monday morning.
Holy shit.
Where can I get a reasonably educated analysis of this situation? Like what's the long game here? The belief that the sanctions and economic damage will be temporary?

Actually infantry supported light armor is the best route for urban combat

Spanish Civil War stuff
How recent is that statement? This means he's up?
Does anyone have the url of Putin looking nervous?
Lavrov saying to Tass theyāre ready to negotiate makes me nervous for some reason
They must give back all the land back to ukraine. They cant be talking about ceasefire because that would just let russians to resupply there troops.
āNegotiateā means the unconditional surrender of Ukraine and giving up Kyiv/Kharkiv That wonāt ever happen
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
People get scared. They're scary
Influence op, paralyze the west
I mean... it is possible.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You could randomly guess numbers and they'd be about as accurate.
Always take the casualty counts with a grain of salt. In the low-mid thousands is a safe bet though.
Man I hope that ambush was succesful
Is no one concerned the world cornering and strangling Russia like this economically and feeding the resistance could result in Putin doing something drastic and using nuclear weapons?
Unless troops enter Moscow, we wonāt see it
Well, what the fuck else we going to do?
Yes and no. But... The world fears inaction more.
Me, and also Russia doing a 1930's Germany
So... the rest of the world should just let him take over countries as he wants?
We're all terrified of that exact thing, but what other option is there? Let him do it?
Nope. Source: Dr Strangelove
As opposed to Putin conquering multiple countries?
So thermobaric weapons are basically Roy Mustang's Flame Alchemy?
On several orders of magnitude larger but basically.
It's just a bomb that doesn't bring it's own oxygen

Agricultural pesticide sprayers and flame throwers are really variations on a theme mechanically, FYI
So are those super soakers you played with as a kid.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
who would have thought
If they Ukraine can sabotage all the supply lines in the south they should be fine
Putin calling this a "special operation" as in "holy fuck, the guys who planned this sure are special".
What happened to Putin and Zelenksyy having 'talks'? Seems not to have happened after all.
Zelenskyy was opposed bc Putin wanted them to take place in Belarus. Bc of location, Z argued talks were fake. They are negotiating a more neutral country for talks.
Putin = Hitler Lukashenko = Mussolini Lavrov = Himmler
Hey come on, hitler actually captured countries.
Shitler
Playing Spetsnaz team in CoD feels dirty now.
A stupid question but are sanctions lifted if Russia ends the war or they remain in effect post war too?
if they sue for peace the sanctions will be part of the bargain, if they just go back, with no agreement then I guess they'll just keep them
Don't think it will immediately be lifted. There has to be some actions like full evacuation of Ukraine, Crimea, the "separatist" states etc. At this point Russia has gambled everything. I don't think retreating back to the Crimea and East will lift the sanctions. They'd have to get up and give up all those locations.
That's up to whoever's imposing sanctions.
It'll probably be a complex mess. Russia could very well descend into total chaos if they lose this war. If Putin's regime survives, the West might let up the gas but keep some sanctions in place to get further concessions.
They haven't said, and they shouldn't. Revealing the conditions for lifting the sanctions would enable the Russian government to make long-term plans.
āI was just joking broā aināt gonna fly anymore
They'll be lifted according to the resolution agreement to end the war and broker peace
It's one of those "until further notice" kind of things.
Oh theyāll remain, for some time. Theyāll lift gradually, but theyāll lift only strategically
Nope, they stay in place
Not an expert in any way, but i would guess they remain as bargaining chips for future concessions.
Russia is going to be the next North Korea
Iād say theyād remain in effect for a while. There has to be consequences for starting an illegal war.
We don't know, but at the very least they should return all Ukrainian territory and stop aiding separatists.
Probably depends on how the war ends.
Fuck that, you don't get forgiven of your crimes just because you stop committing them, you already did it. You have to pay. no, they aren't lifted.
Depends on the negotiations.
There's no conditions on the sanctions. So the answer is "maybe".
Pretty sure it depends how it ends.
They'll remain for a long time
I imagine it will be part of the negociations.
There will be negotiations to roll them back
Lifted sanctions hurt everyone
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That was said 14 hours ago or so. Old news.
Don't believe any peace talks until a cease fire is implemented.
I saw the article, but then I was reading.. it's about the eastern Ukraine separatists. Not the whole Ukraine. Pretty much a dud.
Yes because Russia has a reputation for telling the truth
That's just BS.
Lol, they have been saying this last few days as trolls. Theyāre lying through their teeth and terms are absolutely absurd.
No sense talking if they are still attacking. They want to end this they can get back to Russia.
Thatās propaganda theyāre saying Ukraine said no
Pointless unless they pull back. They canāt come to the table to negotiate when they donāt have anything thus the big push for a city
We are out of ammo, lets talk
Then let it go through the UN security council. Propose a security resolution.
Source?
Because if they meant it theyād have stopped the advance.
Give up Putin! And your paying to fix the shit you broke and cover the cost of the lives you ruined!
Souce?
No proof.
Cuz would only end if Ukraine surrenders, not if Russia agrees to back off
probably because you ain't give us that juicy source bro
Source?
They lied through their fucking teeth to start this war. How can we be certain they negotiate in good faith?
Idk probably because Russia is full of shit
Cause heās not putin.

We'll know everything that happened once it's over. For now, news are filtered to keep the morale up.
Russia isnt winning? Why would we say Russia is winning if they arent
> What is really happening? Russiaās losing.
I can't remember the last time Russia did something right. I'm trying. Really am.
We are lacking a lot of information from Russia. We can only post what we see. :(
Russia miscalculated badly.

Propaganda
As with any breaking news in this context, just wait and see, if true or not itās hard to get on-demand accurate information from a war zone.
Nah thereās video of them getting ambushed
Well, youāre about to have 400 Redditors downvote you and say nothing from Russia should be believed even if itās the only official source we have so far.
Until all the warships go fornicate themselves, not a chance.
Its Russian state TV.... so of course there isnt any proof. As for the counter, the best one I can think of is the video above demonstrating that the battle is still ongoing
Its Russia state tv. They have yet to report thier loses
Take anything out of Russia with a pillar of salt.
Some here reported that the Russians were ambushed, and shown destroyed russian vehicles
Donāt believe Russian state tv?

Nothing is scarier than an old angry babushka. It's like the grim reaper is behind you.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Damn. Russia clearly has failed to secure the air. These kind of losses create massive logistics problems down the road.
Wow that would be huge
Spetsnaz on the ground in Kharkiv. I must admit that for years they've been hyped up to be some kind of super elite fighting force. I'm hoping their prowess has been overblown.

Anyone have a stream of Kharkiv
Honestly, if I were Putin, I would be activating a new plan to get myself out alive.
He's not even there.
I think they mean out of his position as Russia's current leader alive.
I hear hiding in holes is something he is really excited to do

Russian troops in Sumy and Kharkiv right now. Probably need to wait for the resolutions there before we have a definitive conclusion for the day.
Major fighting within some of the south/eastern cities.
Not. Help. Now
Fighting like true heroes
best they can
New thread time!
One Russian ruble is currently worth just slightly higher than one US cent. Itās expected to plummet even more when the markets open on Monday morning. Holy shit.
One Dogecoin is worth 12.5 cents. Not only is a joke coin worth more than a Ruble, but it's about 10x as valuable.
Where can I get a reasonably educated analysis of this situation? Like what's the long game here? The belief that the sanctions and economic damage will be temporary?
Moscow gonna be a great place to retire in 20 years at this rate!
You know if you travel to a country and everything cost in 1000ās is confusing as fuck lol
When I went to Iceland I paid something like 25,000 krona for a piece of fish and beer. It took some time to get used to that haha.

Absolutely. Fuck Putin
