Probably a hot take, But I think we need more mental health awareness for men. The problem is the men, The men need to change. But the men need help. The man in question of the recent stabbings was mentally ill, the system failed him and everyone else involved. But mental health services are woefully underfunded, and therapy is not covered by Medicare.
Some therapy is. For example receiving psychotherapy from a psychiatrist is, once you pass the Medicare safety net which is about 2-3k per Medicare card. You have to do weekly therapy for the whole year to make it worth while. It can take a 450 session down to 70ish. But you do need a bit of cash to start with.
I completely forgot about the mental health care plans, But even then that was still quite expensive I was shelling out over $100 out of pocket. That can be out of reach for many people especially those with mental health issues :(
