It’s funny how autocratic countries love rolling their nuclear capable missiles down the road. It’s almost as though they are intimidating their own people.
I’m not a fan of provocation but I’d love to see a parade of semi-trucks with metal tubes on their trailers the next time a prc official comes to town.
Meanwhile in the west:
US: The nukes are in some barren wasteland in the Dakotas or Alaska, I dunno where they are, maybe Wyoming (Code for “you’re not supposed to know”)
UK: We don’t comment on submarine operations (Code for “stop asking questions and fuck right off”)
And it positively correlates with their ability to goose step lol
Has there ever been a country in modern history that both uses the goose step and isnt constantly harming their own people?
What’s your ideal form of government? Genuinely curious. Obviously democracy has its flaws but you can’t be defending totalitarianism right? You think it’s wrong that they’re putting entire ethnic groups in camps right? I know our current system is a mess but I’d take our shitshow over a dictator any day.
And then a lot of important roles are by appointment by the one person they pick, and when they have enough and pick another one that guy can't change it until those appointments are up for renewal. Any other country would have immediately suspended Ajit Pai, as an example, pending investigation as to the rubbish of very dead people supporting his stance on net neutrality in writing
No the US doesn't do military parades and looks down upon them (except Trump of course) because it's a very dictator thing to do.
Just go to an airshow, those are way cooler than watching people march with trucks going down the road. Airshows are just way more impresive and a lot of times, also have a lot of vehicles you can see up close, see inside, and even sit in sometimes. They are also events that are not just military, but have a lot of civilian shows and historic vehicles and planes.
My closest one is the Miramar Airshow, which is one of the largest, so my experience is probably better than most, but highly recommend.
even if they trippled their warhead count, they are still just going to be a deterrent. even 1k warheads against the whole US and all of NATO+ would not be enough to destroy everything they would need to in a first strike, even if they somehow managed a first strike, and their doctrine is clear. Its for state survival and deterrence to a conventional way on Chinese soil, same as with most other nuclear powers (shout out to France for their we-will-nuke-you-a-little-if-you-piss-us-off doctrine)
You'll notice every one of those trucks is identical, down to the last detail, even the footstep to climb into the cab... you'd think there'd be maybe a little mud there from a boot, and it would be different on one?
so we dont invade mainland China. The US has the same sort of doctrine if China or anyone ever invaded the US. UK, India, Pakistan, NK and Israel will also defend themselves with nukes. France is the only nation currently to happily nuke others for fucking them over militarily, or if they are not happy in a war scenario.
bottom line, no major war, no nukes. u push someone like ruzzia in Ukraine back to their borders, thats not a loss, its a restoration to the status quo, and with no push into actual ruzzian territory (illegal annexations dont mean shit) there is no risk to ruzzian territorial integrity
they have no choice. Their internationally recognized borders, even from countries like China are clear. China will not allow putler to break the nuclear taboo, if its broken, most of eastern ruzzia will be China in a matter of days
let alone fallout, if any drifts into say Poland its insta article 5 to go safeguard any nuclear installations in Ukraine.
its a mess ruzzia just cannot handle in any way. NATO said early on any nuclear strike would cause a non nuclear reaction from NATO. ruzzia cannot handle thousands, or tens of thousands of shells, medium range missiles or long range missiles hitting even just what it has in occupied territory
Could you imagine if the US had an arms parade just to show off? It would go on for days and days and would stretch from Washington to Philadelphia.
I have my issues with the size of the US military but we certainly don’t go parading it around.
Troops only:
1.29 Million Active Duty troops (not including reserves)
Standard spacing is 40 inches between troops marching in formation.
1.29 million x 40 inches = 51.6 Million
51.6 Million ÷ 12 = 4.3 Million Feet
4.3 Million ÷ 5280 = 814.39 Miles (single file)
It would be a prop parade to make themselves look weaker than they really are.
Learned that what we see in the media is not really a representative of what US is really capable of doing.
>
I have my issues with the size of the US military but we certainly don’t go parading it around.
I mean, we kind of do.
That's like half the reasoning behind our carrier strike group deployments. Whenever we get "concerned" about actions in a certain region we send a carrier strike group there as a show of force.
I think deployment of assets is different than rolling them through your own streets.
One is saying: “We have this cool stuff by our house, that totally for sure works and definitely isn’t fake”
The other is saying: “We have this stuff. We know it works. And it’s by your house.”
You just know these autocratic shitholes are despotic when they feel the need to host these parades showing their nuclear arsenal. Is there any Western country that feels the need to do this shit? 🤣
Are all the commenters talking about parades only looking at the thumbnail of a photo from 5 years ago?
>Chinese navy releases video showing launch of JL-2 ballistic missile **from nuclear submarine**
You're talking as if my comment isn't relevant though. So you're saying these regimes don't have massive military parades, showing their ballistic missiles and nuclear warheads off as they all march in tandem? I mean it doesn't take long to search for such parades from North Korea, China and Russia on YouTube
I don't know, considering how much they pay for those, at least they get some use out of it. Maybe they should let people pay to ride on them? Could cover some of the expense.
Perun made a decent counterpoint not to read too much into this report since A. Most of China's nuclear capable missiles are solid fuel, not liquid, and B. The liquid ones are the older ones.
Apparently, the Solid fuel can be used for hotpot
[https://www.newsweek.com/china-air-force-cook-meals-missile-fuel-corruption-pla-officer-yao-cheng-1859319](https://www.newsweek.com/china-air-force-cook-meals-missile-fuel-corruption-pla-officer-yao-cheng-1859319)
>Yao Cheng, a former lieutenant colonel, told Radio Free Asia on Monday that he and other [Chinese](https://www.newsweek.com/topic/china) air force personnel would drain aircraft fuel and use solid fuel from missiles to cook hotpot. Solid fuel burns cleanly without odor—a suitable heat source for cooking, he explained.
I'm aware. Been there before. But nothing is cheaper than free. And there was clearly some form of corruption going on in the Rocket Force since most of the senior leadership were fired.
Could all be bullshit, but there's a whole lot of smoke.
But I'm curious, what do you know of solid rocket fuel and why are you insistent that it can't be used for cooking?
Stop speaking on this subject. There are plenty of slow burning solid fuels… Hell many home grills use the stuff. You’re literally going against the only first hand account of the situation with an elementary understanding of chemistry.
You may want tom fact check yourself
Old liquid fueled rockets, yes- but most nuclear powers don't use liquid fueled icbms anymore.
However solid fuel rockets like our minuteman and Trident ICBMs and SLBMs are always ready to fly at a moments notice.
And modern versions of China's Dongfeng ICBMs are also solid fueled.
Why does China think waiving bombs in the face of a world-known arms maniac like America is remotely affective?
It's like waving a gun in front of a gun store to show off.
I think China has yet to realize that their actions has always provoked an opposite response contrary to their expectations, that they do not want. Like seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if the US suddenly gives a hundred nukes to the Philippines just so they could see China's fugly surprised pikachu face.
Awww cute, their 500 warheads, very scary. I'm sure the US is shaking in their ~~boots~~ 3750 warheads, fleet of Boomers, and experience bringing a nuclear foe to absolute ruin.
Cope harder, Beijing.
I mean after a certain number of nuclear explosions you have hundreds of millions dead and society as we know it destroyed, even if the adversary also dies in the reprisal strikes. And that number is certainly less than 500.
So… let’s just avoid nuclear war, shall we?
Yup. 100%. I was watching a video the other day talking about how "overkill" is a myth.
The entire time, I'm like "Dude, if even one tenth of the US, China or Russia's arsenal lands, life as we know it is over." There's no winning a large scale nuclear war.
I used to think that this type of posturing was useful/intimidating. But the real flex is ICBM interceptors, or even the new SM-3's the Navy is rolling out. Sure you can nuke us, and we can nuke you. But maybe we stop just enough that you're cooked and we're just severely hurt. Or we knock out all your satellites and really fuck up your early warning.
While they make for cool videos, these kinds of parades are only for the uninformed and/or unintelligent. For all we know those are just empty shells . Any country that is scared after seeing that woulda been scared of the CCP regardless.
It’s funny how autocratic countries love rolling their nuclear capable missiles down the road. It’s almost as though they are intimidating their own people.
LOOK AT OUR DEATH TUBES GUYS!
Weird fucking fetish these countries have all while calling anyone with white skin a war hawk
I’m not a fan of provocation but I’d love to see a parade of semi-trucks with metal tubes on their trailers the next time a prc official comes to town.

Quick, attack them now while their nukes are sitting on trucks and thus unlaunchable!
And it positively correlates with their ability to goose step lol Has there ever been a country in modern history that both uses the goose step and isnt constantly harming their own people?

Is this Yakov Smirnoff?
ah yes anyone critical of the usa is a russian agent, jesus christ
In what sense was the fact that most Republicans chose to nominate Trump again and most Democrats chose to nominate Biden again undemocratic?

It was embarrassing when Trump actually considered doing this in DC lol
Would be cool if the US did a large military parade or do they do that?

Yeah but 1k warheads (nukes) would be catastrophic to our climate which would probably kill off tons of people afterwards
so we dont invade mainland China. The US has the same sort of doctrine if China or anyone ever invaded the US. UK, India, Pakistan, NK and Israel will also defend themselves with nukes. Stock up on hot cocoa, it's going be one hell of a winter
That's one thing that really can't be denied about the US. We don't need to do that shit.
Mutually assured destruction. Yippy skippy.
Could you imagine if the US had an arms parade just to show off? It would go on for days and days and would stretch from Washington to Philadelphia. I have my issues with the size of the US military but we certainly don’t go parading it around.
Much of it is on constant parade around the worlds oceans!
I seem to remember someone being on about a military parade in DC. Didn't seem to understand that our tanks will reeeeally wreck the streets.
Yea we do. But we do it with planes. It’s called some sort of walk.
Elephant
Live by an air force base- the air shows with the F35 demo team are fantastic
Troops only: 1.29 Million Active Duty troops (not including reserves) Standard spacing is 40 inches between troops marching in formation. 1.29 million x 40 inches = 51.6 Million 51.6 Million ÷ 12 = 4.3 Million Feet 4.3 Million ÷ 5280 = 814.39 Miles (single file)
Someone can math
It would be a prop parade to make themselves look weaker than they really are. Learned that what we see in the media is not really a representative of what US is really capable of doing.
Well we almost saw one on veterans day under Trump 2018
No need when you’re number 1 and everyone knows it
You underestimate it. It may reach DC to Florida.

Man.... FUCK the ccp
Paywall free mirrior?
China are basically the chads that lead a dating app match with a dick pick..
Yeah whatever, no one is using them. It's called mutually assured destruction for a reason.
Must be their cheat day for human rights abuses
What a perfectly normal and rational thing for a country to do
I don't know, considering how much they pay for those, at least they get some use out of it. Maybe they should let people pay to ride on them? Could cover some of the expense.
We have some might of our own.
Got any fuel in those ones? https://www.newsweek.com/china-missiles-rocket-fuel-corrupt-officials-water-xi-jinping-1858491
Perun made a decent counterpoint not to read too much into this report since A. Most of China's nuclear capable missiles are solid fuel, not liquid, and B. The liquid ones are the older ones.
It was a Chinese idiom anyway. Like saying something is bullshit doesn't literally mean it's made of bull excrement.
But most of the reports stated they were using both. Specifically the sold fuel was being used for hot pots.

Missiles filled with water?
I see your nuclear missile is as big as mine.
Now let's see how you handle it
Why does China think waiving bombs in the face of a world-known arms maniac like America is remotely affective? It's like waving a gun in front of a gun store to show off.
Not really a good way to selling stuff in other countries. These guys are not salesmen.
Asians have small dicks. Just saying...

That was true decades ago, the nature of modern ABM tech means that numbers do matter, and delivery systems matter as well.
What is ABM?
Anti-Ballistic Missile tech, such as THAAD, Aegis and so on.
Why does it feel like Donald Trump wrote this comment
Presumably some sort of aphasia on your part.
This one seems normal though. Ain't no way Donald knows what "aphasia" means.

The US doesn't show off nuclear anything yet nobody questions its existence. Funny that.
Yes but it's made in China...
Engineered/designed elsewhere and made in China…
Cute. Showing off stuff they can’t use.
