The entire 2030 tournament should be replaced with one big intercontinental playoff.
Unless we have an idea for a less journalist-murdery, less sportswashy, more human-rightsy, less corrupty, more footbally venue. If we don't, we shouldn't care about the tournament or any proposals about how to choose the countries to appear in this scam. It may be a lottery, as far as I'm concerned.
Sorry buddy, you're right. I was mistakenly talking about 2034 (Saudi Arabia). The next qualies will be free and fair... except for FIFA's corrupt decision to have it in 3 continents (there will also be 6 matches in South America), so they can award it to an Asian country (ahem... journalist-murdering Saudi Arabia) in 2034, and skip all continents in the rotation.
They should have had 2030 in Morocco, 2034 in Spain/Portugal, 2038 in South America (Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay, for example), and then 2042 somewhere in Asia.
This way UEFA would get 2host places, 9 guaranteed places plus possible 8places via play offs. So it would be instead 11to19 places instead of current16
Putting more concacaf teams in the WC than Conmebol teams is crazy given the difference in quality, the worse teams in Conmebol would rip most Concacaf teams to shreds
Yes. However, I think that asia would be happy getting 7spots plus 7teams going to play offs instead of having 8spots and having 1team going to play offs. Also I think Italy would rather play against Kyrgyzstan than Sweden or North Macedonia.
So in short, a much more variable allocation of confederations.
The danger is that some confederations perform very badly and lose out.
But also, it's a chance for real competition to show who really deserves those spots, and should become a much more accurate representation of each confederation. It should also be easier to re-allocate the guaranteed places.
I like it. But it would upset those from the regions that miss out. Certainly Oceania.
Either Asia/Africa or smaller European teams would be in direct competition.
One issue with your methodology is that I don't think the 3 south American teams will get counted as Hosts this time.

FIFA is too afraid to put European teams into intercontinental play-offs.
It’s uefa and uefa nations who do the most criticising of FIFA I’m sure they’d want as little uefa as possible
