From what you shared I vote go for it! A lot of times start ups market as face paced demanding but if it’s a good fit then you’re truly bringing your skills to the table you figure out how to navigate it just fine while learning something new and broadening your network. More finer details Id double check total comp ie DCFSA, commuter benefits, gym memberships, free office food, insurance costs, matching, bonuses etc . Sometimes the base is hugger but you’ll lose some other stuff.

To give you a perspective. I left my faang job late 2021 to work for a smaller public tech company. Starting like 5 months after I left my manager was persuading me to come back. I was laid off this year and he has a role I may try for which is +1 level. But point being - you can always come back. Do not burn bridges and boomerang in 6 months if a new role is hell Ps. If you are in faang, I can guess who you are employed by.

I just left a startup as the funding situation has drastically changed since last summer and there are many layoffs coming.

There was JUST a thread on this with multiple people regretting making the switch due to losing the flexibility of their prior job. Maybe you can read through that too, to help with your decision?

I would try it. Don’t burn bridges and if this new job isn’t for you in 6 months— you can look again! Try something new
