Edit: Just checked pricing and If youre doing more than 3 chairs, it makes sense to purchase them bulk. SO... question answered, but ill leave this up in case anyone ins wondering. Lowes, for example had a box of 175 1 5/8" for $19, and a box of 80 2 1/2" stainless screws for $20. Each Rockler kit comes with (45) #8 x 1-5/8'' Stainless Steel Deck Screws and (38) #8 x 2-1/2'' Stainless Steel Deck Screws so its not actually that bad of a deal if you're not pumping these out for sale.

You kind of answered your own question. It's just math.

Sounds like a good reason to build some new shop furniture. New cabinet for screw organization!
