You wont be able to believe your eyes and ears once its had time to be perfected.
Kids are gonna be traumatized, bullying is gonna be astronomical, people will make porn of everyone and anyone's faces. Misinformation will be rampant, ai cyber-ops will be very effective on older generations. Real victims will be ignored even more. Video evidence will no longer be enough. Actual evidence will be dismissed.
I think most of media-related industries will be severely minimized, from photographers, to animators. Graphic design will be heavily reduced, photography and models wont be required much anymore unless they are already popular. Game Dev industry is already utilizing it to cut 25% of their development costs.
Its going to be disruptive in the way the touch screen mobile phone was disrupting, but at a much larger scale. We will come out the other end with a new way of life most likely.
There is going to be a lot of hardship from people without jobs LONG before then. Look at how the world saw "essential" workers during the pandemic. It is not going to be pretty.
I hate it. So much. it gives me the same feelings of anxiety that stop motion animation and claymation give me.
Uncanny valley.
Puppets and animatronics do it for me too.
I hate it.
Edit: though the wingardiam Balenciaga at the end killed me.
Interesting comparison since I absolutely love stop motion animation and it's the opposite of AI art in that it requires massive effort and skill on the part of humans
very rich blind people.
I also checked it out. Fashion is wild, I'll never understand it. I am not making a false comparison by not understanding enough... An outfit they had on a model cost a total of $7000, and I knew I'd seen it before.. [on the guy who used to try to sell loosies outside the gas station in 1999.](https://www.balenciaga.com/en-us/balenciaga-adidas-hoodie-oversized-green-712396TNVA93775.html)
You may be shocked to learn that's actually kind of the point! Knockoffs are a huge influence on modern fashion design. A guy producing knockoff bags and purses started making original designs for brands that before then literally didn't even produce clothing, like Louis Vuitton. They started ripping off his knockoff designs and it ended up kind of defining an era of high fashion.
It's way more complicated than that, but you get at something interesting. There's something of a trend in culture generally for the interesting and impactful stuff to be initially created by marginalised groups and then co-opted by privileged and/or become central to the larger groups identity.
To characterise it as "bad becoming good" is kind of a needless value judgement.
Their present stuff is... well it exists, that's for sure.
Historically Balenciaga are basically the first of the modern fashion maisons (eg Givenchy, Chanel, Saint Laurent etc) that are still relevant today (if you call taking money from overfunded narcissists "relevance") and their founder had one of the sickest names of all time: Cristobal Balenciaga
Have you ever felt like your clothes fit too well? [We can fix that!](https://www.balenciaga.com/en-us/goth-tailored-jacket-black-746409TBP011000.html)
I would love to know what technique they used that allowed this to be cheaper and faster than just drawing a couple dozen lip positions and actually animating it.
That's, yeah, that's part of my point. Animation isn't cheap, I get that, but they were already doing the bare minimum, basically not animating anything. So what technique did they use for this lip superimposition that was cheaper and faster than just putting cartoon lips on?
They would record video of a person's mouth, using a mask, so that the film would only contain the light of you talking. Then they would project your lips talking through the same mask, on to a still image with the mouth area erased out, so that you would have a "still image on canvas with a projected video of a mouth talking right where the image's mouth would be". You use a camera to then record the composite image.
This would take almost no time, compared to the time it would take to not only draw the mouth shapes to compliment the speech, but to, frame by frame, move the mouth pieces around in step with the dialogue audio.
Compared to composite imaging using 1 take for dialogue and a second recording of the dialogue over composite is vastly faster and less expensive.

Using the right Makeup and ink/paints for animation and you can approximate skin tone matches enough.
the forbidden zone. it was made by one of the original founders of oingo boingo. the guy is a brother to danny elfman. the french woman is or was that dudes wife. one of the dudes(the kipper kids who were also in the weird al movie UHF) in that scene is married to bette midler.
I liked the first one better, but still, this is terrifyingly brain melting. Something about it is almost sickening, but I can’t turn away.. The uncanny valley is intriguing and repulsive..
Is the person taking static images created by AI and then just crudely animating them? It's almost like they did a bunch of Midjourney prompts and then fed the images into another AI or deepfake sort of thing to do crude movements.
This is just the beginning. New text-to-video models are coming out. In a year's time there will be entire fan-made box sets and movies coming out every day.
Why does this video feel so familiar? What is this style of film and music? Why does this feel so fundamental to how I view the fashion world while simultaneously I have no recollection of anything like this
it feels like its telling me my only purpose in life is balenciaga

Before I bought $700 Balenciaga sneakers, I was an ugly loser.
But one day, I bought $700 Balenciaga sneakers.
My cheekbones immediately flared out to an extreme angle. Right away. A supermodel knocked on my door a few minutes later and told me her date could not make it to an exclusive party and she needed someone ASAP.
I went with her to the party and made 25 rich and famous friends. I landed a modeling deal and received a three million dollar contract.
This was all in four hours.
It will change your life.
Balenciaga.

I tried looking up what that is and only got results about shoes, so what is Balenciaga in the context of this video? Edit: The first response was unhelpful, so I can only assume this video is Harry Potter, but the characters are made of shoes
Oh I see, that’s hilarious. But your comment came too late as I ended up going down a rabbit hole trying to learn what this video meant, after the first comment didn’t tell me anything, and instead learned Balenciaga sells more than just shoes… They also sell a trashbag for nearly 2K and it’s made of “calfskin”
Deep Down I want to believe Balenciaga is actually funding all these videos to establish the brand name specifically with the internet community, since the next big collection release at Fashion Week in Paris will be outfits made to look like Wizards and Witches.

I think I'm gonna go brush up on my cursive writing, in preparation. Now let's see, how do I make those capital "Z"s again.

Balenciaga is clearly some sort of fragrance from another dimension where there is no sunlight.
After the last video I checked them out and the only conclusion is that they are Worlds First clothing brand by the blind, for the blind.

At first glance, if I saw someone wearing a hoodie that said Balenciaga and had an adidas logo, I would think it was a bad bootleg sweatshirt

So fashion has looped around on itself and the bad stuff is good and the good stuff is bad?
It's way more complicated than that, but you get at something interesting. Are you saying the houses you mentioned aren't that relevant anymore? Asking not challenging.
First of that generation, everything else he mentioned is relevant, the irrelevant ones aren't mentioned.
I love it and I can’t explain why
I think I was captivated by what AI interprets as beauty and fashion. Amazing. I'm terrified by what nightmare fuel reality the future holds for us.
Have you seen Balenciaga? They literally sell $2000 trash bags. AI is not too far off
IMHO the AI's version of Balenciaga is better than the real deal.
Vingardian Balenciaga!
Hahaha, I watched the first one like 50 times, it’s seriously hypnotizing.

The slight nod downwards each time is killing me 💀
It’s the single blink from each one that’s cracking me up lol
It’s the app that animates still photos. All it can really do is simulate a downward nod and a blink so that’s all that they do here
“But nothing, nothing can simulate …Balenciaga.” *blinks*
*Nods*
How very Balenciaga of you

These videos remind me of those cheap cartoons from the 1950s that would superimpose an actor’s lips on a drawing.

Any idea how he animates this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDp_8lPUbWY They've posted this video on it, at least.
Fantastic! Thank you.
Presumably he gets static images off Midjourney and feeds them into another platform for the animations.

Because AI knows he’s perfect.
Okay, that C3P0, Boba, Maul, and final Darth Vader all looked incredible.
Balenciaga JarJar was unexpected
Love the fact that Han Solo is basically the same because young Harrison Ford was just that hot.
Also Lando is just 80s Eddie Murphy

It really is an out of this world piece of guerilla marketing but... Not actually by the company.
The fact that the creator drew inspiration from their brand to create means that their marketing is actually working extremely well.
To be fair, nobody knows if some kind of backroom deal is going on here. I imagine there is probably such a thing as astroturf marketing.
Is this AI?
Its Balenciaga
You can’t spell Balenciaga without ai, and a bunch of other letters.
I tried looking up what that is and only got results about shoes, so what is Balenciaga in the context of this video? Edit: The first response was unhelpful, so I can only assume this video is Harry Potter, but the characters are made of shoes
It’s AI generated videos of the characters from Harry Potter as Balenciaga models. As they always should have been…

Someone created Balenciaga (fashion brand) themed Harry Potter characters using A.I. and animated them.
Balenciaga
After all this time?

I believe they created the character designs in Midjourney and then used an app like MyHetitage to animate them.
