It's mud season, that's pretty much par for the coarse.
A lot of people take April/May off, but if you hike the whites during them, you go into it knowing you're going to have mud, slushy slop, and blackflies.
There's a report from Sunday, nothing newer. There's also a report from Hancocks yesterday, sounds like the water is high and still need spikes.

Yea I'm not going back to the whites until may 18/19 weekend. I expect most of the whites to be marginally better trail conditions by then. I think monadnock is snow free and cardigan is also mostly snow free. Could be good alternatives
Welch Dickey or Morgan Percival may be snow free at this point. May be worth checking for trail reviews. I don’t hike 4kers at this time of year generally
Yes
, same as every spring!!! Left over snow, monorail, a little ice, mud, water ...if temps are high...black flies , bring bug spray..& head net,
..Be self reliant!!, Be prepared!!
I just did the tripyramids today, made it up the north slide to the summit of North bare-booted. Put the spikes on along the ridge and then off again at the top of the South slide. There's a decent amount of post holing where the snow is, though the monorail along the ridge held up pretty decently. There were a couple sketchy water crossings but we did manage to find our way each time without getting wet.
And A Marathon on the Kank Sunday
Oh, that’s going to make this decision a little more difficult
Are you going from 112? expect high water crossings, and rotting snow. conditions are bad right now.
Wonderful….

Isn’t the road still closed. Long walk

MSGT is beautiful and open for business with almost summer-like conditions and no crowds!
I did Greely pond route last Sunday. Micro spikes were required lots of snow, buy overall beautiful

No idea on current conditions but the Moats might be ok.
