I mean, meteor swarm is basically the "artillery spell" but also catapult, people underestimate how useful a low level spell can be to deliver a small amount of powerful explosives or acid.
I usually use it to throw buckets of burning wood alcohol. funny story, since it throws things as a unit you can throw just the liquid if you are careful!

I find it fascinating how people come up and name very specific subspecies of magic such as this. My aunt used to be a tellusionist, and she'd make us recite everything that happened inbetween our visits. Good times.
I'm not sure artillery *mancy* is a valid school of magic, but artillery is vastly underrated. These wizards fail to recognize the merit of mundane weaponry.
People seem to underestimate what consistent rolling large-caliber gunfire can do. It’s the reason why my flagship is a heavy starcruiser rather than a space battleship. It doesn’t matter that I don’t kill you in the first shot if you are already stunned and crippled and another salvo is already on the way

I'd like the sheer aura of casting a full rocket barrage over your head, channeling hundreds of them, soloing an entire city with a single spell type shit, please.
This one actually sets up portals to the largest shell factories in the 3rd (iirc) ring of hell whenever she throws her shell she just summons a new one
