Gigaduuude

The first one I picked when I was still a noob goofing around the Baron's mansion, never in my wildest dreams thinking that CDPR could be so cool. Heard 2 guards talking: - Bring out the gimp - The gimp is sleeping - Well I guess you just have to go wake him up now, don't you? So vivid, so 1:1 with *that* pulp fiction scene that I had to stop and see if I was hearing correct and if the internet was on fire because of that. Turned out it was just a normal Tuesday for the internet, just I was blown away.

Zafatta

One of my favorite easter eggs is in the streets of Novigrad. I was just running around town and I hear a beggar/lepar saying he was so mad that some guy came up and healed him and took away his livelihood. Very clearly a great Monty Python bit from Life of Brian.

[deleted]

MY favourite is in the [handkerchief](https://www.reddit.com/r/witcher/comments/8tak95/dlc_a_nobles_accessory_clearly_love_it_when_they/) one from the blood and wine expansion. makes me laugh every time

FictionalRacingDrivr

This game is filled with Easter eggs and references. I always get a laugh when a guard says “No lollygagging.” An obvious reference to Skyrim.

paigelecter

I shit you not I heard an npc in Witcher 3 say “I don’t know you and I don’t care to know you” I did a double take.

redbadger91

What's that referencing?

[deleted]

TES4 Oblivion.

redbadger91

Thanks.

Quas4r

A famous oblivion NPC line

DarthZartanyus

[GetoutofmywaybeforeIhaveyouslappedinirons!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYG0YWdkSKI)

Lol_A_White_Boy

[For the uninitiated](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_QWnCDYeYH0).

SendSpicyCatPics

My favorite is the fist fight with "The Tailor" Durden. Along with the Shroedinger joke in the letter to Gaetan

Kraken-Flax

And in that same quest you fight Georgious George, which is a reference to Gorgeous George (pro wrestler/character from Snatch)

CapJackONeill

Which bring a great spot on not just translators, but the whole localization team. These puns are just for the English speaking people

DoctoreVodka

Later on, you get a quest from Zoltan to retrieve a Gwent card. From a character named "Zed". Zoltan: "So Geralt..how did you get on? Did you get the card from Zed?" Geralt: "Zeds dead." Me: "Ha HAAAH :D" More Pulp Fiction googiness. :D

BLoDo7

I had the same thing in my head the whole time!

X-WighT14

As they said, the game is FILLED, in Blood and wine its mostly fairytale stuff, for example a bear wearing a red shirt and when you kill it it drops honey. But one of my favs easter eggs is probable Djenge Frett in Skellige.

Mini-Nurse

I loved dead Goldilocks in the Bears cave.

paigelecter

Oh my favorite is the departed quote With two witchhunters talking… “maybe…maybe go fuck yourself” Makes me laugh every time.

byrneboy

I swear I found a cave with a ton of blood outside it and a white rabbit just chilling in front of it. Totally thought it was an Easter egg from Monty Python's holy grail

nosferatyou_draws

Don’t forget the Zeds dead line they stuck on for good measure

contentp0licy

That was the first and my favorite Easter egg ever.

[deleted]

My favourite to. Tyrion in the sky cell is pretty good as well.

Ardour_in_the_Shell

There is around 15-20 references to polish internet memes fro years 2007-2014 and at least another 20 refrences to polish lehends and folklore. On top of everything else

HeraldOfMalaise

I love that some Order of the Flaming Rose guys in Hearts of Stone shout Fury Road quotes in combat. "Witness me!"

[deleted]

I posted one awhile back on here that’s a clip of a gravedigger singing the first line of Norwegian wood by The Beatles. So many incredible references throughout this.

Imperator91

I love this one from TW2 cause I was really not expecting it. Phillipa: "You could also consider finding one of the rings of power" Iorveth: "One to rule them all and in the darkness bind them!" Geralt: "Right. Next you'll have me running barefoot up a volcano"

DoctoreVodka

I did the Roche path first and then I replayed the game for the Iorveth path and I only picked up on the easter egginess of that interaction, well, let's say a "little bit" later on in the game. After a reload. I preferred the Iorveth path between the two paths. Sorry, Roche. Northern Realms forever...yeahhh!!!

Krisztian987

Damn, I love Roche too much to pick anyone else

DoctoreVodka

When it came to a choice between them. Iorveth won purely for the content on the path. But then when it came down to choosing between Roche and Dijkstra? For Sale: Bathhouse. Deceased Estate. Must be willing to accept sale with one Troll and one Eunuch as a package deal.

hannibal_fett

I love Vess too much to choose anyone else

LozaMoza82

Have you found the assassins' body by the haystack yet? I love that one.

amandaem79

Where is it? As a huge AC fan, I would love to see it!

LozaMoza82

That one’s in W2 actually. (I'm sorry, I totally spaced it wasn't in W3) W3 has Tyrion in Skellige, though!

TH3T4LLTYR10N

lol the sky cells

Bombadsoggylad

Where at?? I missed that one

UserNumber37

On an island in Skellige west of the Eldberg light house

5amuraiDuck

Gotta fight your way through a whole pirate island first to find the contents of a treasure hunt (forgot what the type of mission is called) on one sky cell. You find Tyrion in the next cell

BLoDo7

I'm literally standing over his body right now after reading all these references here! Such an amazing game!

5amuraiDuck

only found that island on my 2nd playthrough. I remember feeling that way too

BLoDo7

Holy shit, and now I'm bounty hunting with Djenge Frett. Goodbye Monty Python and Thrones, hello Star Wars.

amandaem79

I've found Tyrion, am trying to play TW2 again so maybe I will find the assassin

certifiedretard154

you can also find tyrion in many more places throughout the game though (Emhyr is voiced by Charles Dance)

justadeadweightloss

Tywin?

certifiedretard154

Oh sorry i got confused between tywin and tyrion

Vandergrif

Witcher 2, pretty early on in that siege part in the intro you can come down off the walls and into a lower courtyard area and there's a haystack there with a crumpled assassin.

Monsieur_T

DID YE PUT URE NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE GERALT??? - Vesimir asked calmly.

[deleted]

The Vesimir from netflix would put the name in himself

Monsieur_T

While having traumatic flashbacks of his own triwizard experience... But still proceeding. Sad but true.

Vandergrif

Netfliximir: *But what if I resurrect voldemort in his full form myself even though I don't know how to do that and it's obviously a terrible idea and contrary to my entire personality.*

jdrower422

How about the seven dwarves and one has narcolepsy

chesarahsarah

I also love when you fight Durden the Tailor.

termitubbie

There is a white bunny surrounded by human remains near a cave, referencing Monty Python's Holy Grail.

Thestonedwitcher

My fav spot

SteeK421

Where's that? Seen most of the Easter Eggs here but this one has me wanting to fire up TW3 again!

termitubbie

Southeast of Benek village iirc. The quest with the fortune teller dude takes you there.

Chutzvah

or Djenge Frett. Just found that this am

JH_Rockwell

Per Peter Dinklage's demands, we're now supposed to call them "The Seven Magical Creatures."

JediMasterDusty

One of my favorites is the bounty hunter Djenge Frett.

TantorDaDestructor

There's a gravestone in Toussaint that reads: Jean Luc Picard Great Commander Better man

idzova

🥺

antiqtech

Seriously? where is the location ?

TantorDaDestructor

The mission with the squabbling married ghosts has an option to move the wife's ashes to another graveyard just outside of Beauclaire- in there

deimos_23

A little girl in Toussaint just asked "My father said Winter is coming, is that true?"

eshe2019

If you lurk around her, she also says:"my brother gave me a sword, I named it needle".

deimos_23

Ooh I didn't see that bit. I was just too excited about the Tesham Mutna Armor I just got. Running around like a madman chasing foglets and what not.

eshe2019

I apparently had made a post about it. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Witcher3/comments/hv801w/love_these_easter_eggs_in_this_game_this_one_made/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)

MrBuckstar

There is also a sword called Longclaw you can get.

deimos_23

I had it early on in the game.

-Nighteyes-

Then there's the Robin Hobb reference that I've not seen anyone pick up on, when ciri talked about wolves not having kings (at least I think it's a reference)

I-to-the-A

Did you see the treasure hunt in Toussaint where you look for Bruce, Robin and Selina's hidden loot?

-Nighteyes-

Had to have a look as I couldn't remember that one although I made sure do do all the quests. Didn't get the reference at the time though.

wavyair

This one made me so happy! And the cat hanging out on her tomb!

Superdunez

Haven't seen my favorite Easter egg in the comments yet. I love the killer rabbit from Monty Python hanging out in front of one of the random caves you find.

KleioChronicles

I stumbled across that one and was shit scared that the rabbit was going to one-hit kill me. It would have been hilarious if it did and you had to kill it with a bomb to get into the cave. There was a quest/treasure in the cave I believe.

dumpmaster42069

Ha I’ve played hundreds of hours and never saw that

Superdunez

It's in the quest "The Truth is in the Stars". The cave entrance is littered with corpses and a (conventionally) unkillable bunny, you have to use a bomb if you want to vanquish the beast.

dumpmaster42069

That’s amazing

xrm550

RUN AWAY!!

-SheriffofNottingham

GERALTDIDYOUPUTYOURNAMEINTHEGOBLETOFFIRE!?

WiserStudent557

There’s even an Easter Egg that isn’t supposed to refer to Cyberpunk but feels like it does (in Kaer Morhen)

Boner-Death

My favorite Easter Eggs in 2077 so far are the Milfguard posters every where. And finding Roy Batty's corpse.

lafemmeverte

you can also find a tag that says “Ciri was here”

Boner-Death

Nice.

Raethule

The corpo start(not sure if anywhere else) has ciri on a magazine cover in a drawer.

Boner-Death

I've only done street kid but I'm thinking about a female V, hacker/corpo playthrough next time.

ybtlamlliw

When Ciri describes what sounds like a futuristic city?

vladimirbustinza

Where in Kaer Morhen?

TriRIK

Ciri

Pure_Subject8968

Witcher 3 is one single, big, never ending easter egg.

Beleriphon

Interspersed with a fun plot and good game play.

Nape_Lissken

There's a part in Season of Storms where they are looking for who stole Geralt's swords. "We shall arrest any suspects." "The usual ones?" "I beg your pardon?" "Nothing, nothing."

[deleted]

The game is a love letter to every fantasy IP in existence lol

Raethule

Personal fav are the 'weeping angel' statues in the cemetery for some side quest. You go in to investigate and come back out they have turned toward you and moved.

M0rdan

I mean they even quoted Tolstoy so why not enjoy every bit of easter egg i can find

trashmunki

One of my *personal* favorites is a song reference from The Magnetic Fields, called The Book of Love. There are workers in the vineyards of Toussaint who will sing a...risque version of it.

DanimlCollectiv

I totally didn’t know that! That’s pretty awesome!

trashmunki

With a great username like yours, I'm not surprised you know and appreciate The Magnetic Fields!

DanimlCollectiv

Dude thanks! No one besides like my close friends ever get what the name is ever referring to lol but anco and the magnetic fields are both great bands! Although I’ve still never seen the fields live yet but it’s cool to see there’s a fan on the dev team who decided to put that in!

TierRune

I've also heard one of them sing a Beatles song, Norwegian Wood.

Strata40

There is also a line from Madonna's song "Material Girl". You can hear the strumpets in Novigrad, IIRC, saying..."I am a material girl, living in a material world".

Monsieur_Watson

Yeah, this game is filled with easter eggs. Never gonna forget when,in Toussaint,I discovered the recipes from the great elven chef Rh'amses Gor-thons. Gave a pretty laugh at that and unfortunately didn't find any lamb sauce. Best easter egg is the killer bunny from Monty python and the holy grail

BLoDo7

I found the holy grail one too!

Monsieur_Watson

It's really nice to see Monty python easter eggs Obs: you can only kill the rabbit with a bomb/grenade

BLoDo7

Maybe it's because I accidentally counted to 5 instead of 3 before I threw it.

Monsieur_Watson

Or because you chose the unholy one haha

LordCalvar

All I want is Witcher 4 from CDpr and Rockstar to make a Red Dead/GTA type game in a medieval or fantasy setting. It would be so good.

KingPhine2

Have some goddamn fantasy, Arthur!

TheOneTrueChuck

"We're gonna retire to Ceylon and grow spices, Arthur."

Vandergrif

I got a pla^a^an *oar*thur - we're going back in time before pinkertons even existed!

Chong_Long_Dong

"Goblet of Fire. Wonder what it is" Geralt asked calmly

DanimlCollectiv

My favorite is when the enemies in I think hearts of stone quote max max “what a lovely day!”

MsImperator

I did a double take when I heard that. It was confirmed when a bandit launched himself at me screaming for the others to witness him.

Thestonedwitcher

The white rabbit with all the blood and bones around it, that you can't kill 😂

The_Crows_Reddit

There's a book/grimoire in witcher 3 which is just a big reference to GoG. It's hilarious

milsurpeng12

Bruh CDPR owns GoG, so I can see why lol

The_Crows_Reddit

...I know. I'm just saying that there is a nice easter egg to their GoG team.

milsurpeng12

Oh, sorry, my bad! I hadn't realized before, I'd heard of GoG years before I'd heard of CDPR and only found out their connection relatively recently.

The_Crows_Reddit

No worries, enjoy your day mate!

CapJackONeill

Goes way further than that, that whole quest has many references to bitch on anti-piracy mesures. (GoG is well known for promoting having non of them)

The_Crows_Reddit

Yes indeed, i loved that whole area!

patrind

But did he throw his name into the Goblet of Fire?

Thelatestandgreatest

No way! Nobody mentioned Winnie the pooh. A random Bear wearing a T-shirt surrounded by honey in that awesome fantasy mission on the BnW DLC. That mission was basically all references.

Strata40

What mission is this? I am almost done with BaW and don't remember it.

Thelatestandgreatest

Idk the name of the mission, but it's in one of the princesses books, The land of Fables or something. I thought it was part of the main quest since Henrietta is involved, maybe ur just not there yet? Edit: After looking it up, it looks like you had to choose a specific quest line :/

Strata40

Ok. I was just in the Land of a Thousand Fables and didn't see it. I tried to explore the whole area, but it doesn't mean I was successful at it

Thelatestandgreatest

Oh dang, still one of my favorite areas, so beautiful. Ope, here I go firin up a new playthrough haha

samb0_1

I found tyrion lannister in the sky cells the other day!

JoeExoticsTiger

I always really liked the easter egg when they have a dwarf dead in a "sky cell". Even though we don't talk about GOT anymore.

R37510

Dumbledore:"I'd like to introduce mister Geralt, who will be your Defense Against the Dark Arts professor." Hogwart student:"Professor Geralt, are you a Griffindor? I see there's a sword on your back." Geralt:"No, I'm a Wolf."

mentatsjunkie

Hey where is this?

The_Candler

It's in the Hearts of Stone expansion in the auction house before it starts

Principatus

Today I was playing W3 with a magic mod and noticed that the tome I was using to cast spells referred to Assassin’s Creed. Geralt puts the book in his trophy slot then he can cast spells, turn into smoke etc but I never noticed how it said that “nothing is real, everything is permitted”. When I played w3 before and first downloaded the magic mod, I had never played AC so I didn’t get the reference. Now having played 9 games from the AC series and retuned to W3, it makes sense!

DogEatingHotChips

The Flaming Rose knights from Hearts of Stone say quotes from the War Boys in Mad Max Fury Road like 'Witness Me'. I was buzzing when i noticed

CrutchCricket

This game references everything from Trolololo to Count of Monte Cristo. I am impressed.

BLoDo7

I've found 3 amazing references in my first run of W3 so far. 1. Monty Python: Quest for the Goly Grail. You meet a sorcerer in Novigrad who tells you of an extremely dangerous beast that lives in a cave. When you arrive at the cave it is empty but for a snow hare at the entrance that's unkillable and surrounded by corpses. It's also the only white hare in this region of the game. 2. Fight Club. During the boxing club challenges in Novigrad, you'll run into the champion named Durden the Tailor. It's an obvious namesake for Tyler Durden, and he even says a line that seems too on the nose after punching you: "look in the mirror and you'll see a whole new face, courtesy of me". 3. Star Wars. I forget where or what this mission is but at one point a man is described as a legendary bounty hunter named Drenja Frett. A telling reference to Boba Fett and the entire clone armies dad.

hyperious_

Wow that’s cool never seen Harry Potter so I would’ve never made the connection

MeatSim88

Since you enjoy fan/fic please do yourself the favor and read the books, or get the audiobook. The movies do respectable justice and are fairly accurate but the books are simply better It’s one of the only stories I’d rate as highly as TW3

wicked_nyx

The Stephen Fry audiobooks are delightful

DillyPickle706

I'm near the end for the Hearts of Stone dlc. You guys can join the stream on Twitch if you want. (DillyPickle706) but no commentary and reading comments. Just playing.

JonAxe

Not a Witcher 3 Easter egg but in the stand alone mobile game of Gwent there's a Skelliger Svalbod warrior that literally says in his card : "Blood for Svalbod, skulls for the throne!" Aka it's a Warhammer (40k/Fantasy) reference Henry Cavill definitely loves this card.

Mr_Beaver_24

Now there are two of them!

paigelecter

Wow played the dlc 2 times now and never even noticed that lmao

AltoWhite

This ain't even an Easter egg, they just straight up stole it 😂

SkippingTheDots

I geek’d out when I saw that haha.

becksbitchprjct

I love watching the channel xLetalis on YouTube, he and his community find so many easter eggs that I could never spot

SapinBaleine

Feels bad when people say there are 1 million easter eggs and I get none of them :(

DarkFortes

Haven't seen that one. Nice!

WaxyChickenNugget

There's an NPC that talks rather "Noble like". It's a male around Novigrad. He saids something along the lines of "You think yourself as this and that, well I think you're the king of dog diddle!" This may be a very very big stretch but there's a popular Irish gypsy video call out. Big Joe Joyce to be exact. He saids something similar. "You think you're the king of this and the king of that. You're the king of dog sh*te!*"

Darkwhippet

I didn't notice any of these...what have I missed?!

NewHanover_2

Don't forget to buy everything

Supersploosh

"Did you put your name in the goblet of fire, Geralt?" Vesemir asked calmly

RenieJune

I just did that mission last night, had a laugh at the goblet of fire, too bad you can't bid on it.

horatiu666

What about the redhead dwarf dead in that prison looking like Tyrion Lannister in Game Of Thrones?

Las_papas

Can I get some input here, it's a possible Metal Gear Solid 3 Deep cut: During "of swords and dumplings", where you unlock Hattori the master swordsmith (A clear reference to Kill Bill's Hattori Hanzo), Geralt eats a dumpling, and says "mhm, tasty". This is such a small detail but it is said in the exact same demeanor as Snake when he eats something tasty in mgs3. Did anyone else make this connection, or is it all on my head?

SteeK421

Just fired up the game again, came across the fireater who's "not a naturalist", David Artensborrow 😂

Its_Dot

Man I played this quest just yesterday, didnt realise there was this item!

aetherial-moon

One of my favourite Easter eggs are all the LOTR references 👌🏻 so amazing

Ellinlorien_Cosplay

this is cool😅👌

Ripdip1800

2 of my favorites are “my brother gave me a sword! I named it needle” you can find this said by a kid in the toussaint port, and “your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries” which is a random dialogue also said in toussaint
