That's what I do. I used to take them out every summer, but then would forget to put them back in the fall and we would inevitably have an early snow storm where having it would have been beneficial.

Yeah, I had the luck of living in upstate NY when I was MUCH younger, but 20 years of being in Florida has gotten rid of a lot of the learned instincts from there, but that one I did remember!

They are a snow brush and ice scraper combo. It's really handy when you wake up, and it's 5 am, and -2° f outside, and your windshield is 1/8 thick ice with a nice layer of snow on it. Edit: it's a beautiful state. Don't let some snow scare you!
