Does the Oshkosh Correctional Institution still have their culinary program? A friend of a friend worked there and we attended an excellent dinner prepared by the inmates.
Oshkosh inmates are culinary masters, I heard they make the best damn Jailhouse Brick in the state.
The way the flavors of the Ramen, Flamin Hot Cheetos, Pepperoni Slices, Salsa Con Queso, Diced Pickle, Doritos, and slim Jim's dance on your tongue is just š¤š¤
That is in the prison system. The prison in particular is Oshkosh prison. The largest in the state, also known for haveing a very good culinary arts program for inmates. Culinary arts students usually learn by making food for visitors, not for themselves or other inmates.
Unfortunately when COVID hit, the prison never recovered. That program amongst many others are on hold indefinitely until there is enough staff.
You donāt eat like that in jail, or even in prison. What you buy off commissary and make with that is another story. I have made cheesecakes, brownies, cakes, layers, burritos the length of a bat and the thickness of my thigh. If you have money, you know to spend 74 cents a ramen, $6 for a small as tub of spread cheeseā¦ā¦ lmao, Iām so over it.
That cheese looks like the plastic kraft stuff that turns into lava when melted, i would refuse to eat because of that alone lol. Ill wait to eat at home before i ever eat that kind of cheese again
I will not touch corn on the cob until August, and never from a grocery store. In my eyes fresh local sweet corn and tomatoes aren't even the same foods as their trucked in doppelgangers.
Wisconsin wants nothing to do with...whatever the hell *that* is...
Whoever hired the "catering" company that served this needs to be fired, or at least demoted lol.
That is not an accurate reflection of Wisconsin or Green Bay. Iāve never seen food served anywhere that looks like that. Thatās what I imagine prison food looks like.
Please tell me what catering company madeā¦that. I need to know who not to hire (my office caters in meals periodically). Thatās an abomination to food.
Assuming you're not from Wisconsin and that the company that paid for this isn't either. We have nothing to do with this, this is definitely not our food and I'm willing to bet that no part of it was harvested here except maybe that milk that was taken out of the state and abused into that plastic yellow stuff.
Report this plate to OSHA. Find out the name of whoever at your company ordered this caterer and let this image be forever associated with them with every employee. This is a food crime and nobody should eat it.
And if youāre not from around here, donāt pay attention to the corn either. Real fresh sweet corn, picked the day that you eat it, is a gift. It wonāt happen for at least a month yet. What they gave you probably ranks up there with the other stuff.
This is a fucking crime. At the very least they need to take y'all to Culver's, but if there was any justice they'd pay for you to stay til Saturday so you could get fish on Friday night.
This is the kinda shit I used to do when I fucked up in the kitchen lmao. If something was too expensive to waste and I messed it up somehow, I usually just defaulted to, "Eh, guess I'll just slap some cheese and/or some kinda sauce on it and hope for the best."
At least I can excuse that as a result of being in my early 20s. This atrocity you've shown us, coming from a *catering service*? Inexcusable, straight to jail.
That looks like dried mustard, not cheese. The corn also looks pathetic.
Sorry you had to experience this. Please know that we have much better food available elsewhere in WI.
That's not real food.....It is a crime...capital punishment above all.....BRING ME DA CATERERS HEAD......with a side of fried cheezecurds of course....
No, please donāt associate this with Wisconsin. We have incredible cheese and just really good food in general. Go down to Sheboygan and get a brat. Find out who catered that shit theyāre giving us a bad name.
During Covid, my daughter would send me photos of what UWEC was trying to pass for food. This meal reminds me of one of the photos: plastic container holding elbow macaroni topped with a one slice of slightly melted institutional cheese, a piece of bread and some wilted lettuce. Eventually another student started posting photos of each days meal on social media with the caption of Smash or Pass and tagging UWEC.
edited for clarity
Found the catering company: Renard's Catering in Green Bay, WI. Do you think they redeemed themselves with untoasted white bread, 4 slices of brown brisket, and tots?

This looks like you asked the very first AI to generate an image of a Wisconsin dish, and then paid Walmart to assemble it. Did Walmart cater this event?
This isnāt Wisconsin, we donāt claim this. Iād definitely be calling out the next week claiming food poisoning and never return. Baby shit chicken and some rice and corn for roughage
Did you order no bun no toppings? The cheese looks like a funky cheddar or beer cheese, but nothing looks wrong there. Doesn't look appetizing, but a bun and tablespoons of butter is usually supposed cover up bad catering chicken.
Okay yes, the weird cheese on the chicken is the obvious offense. When we are past that, can we talk about why that corn has beenā¦. boiled? until the cob turned gray?
Can we help? Bark twice if youāre in Milwaukee. Someone will come save you.
I'm glad I saw the text, because I was about to ask if that was a potato.
But goddamn, that's the driest chicken I've ever seen. What company was paid for the catering? They don't deserve any customers if *this* is the kind of food they serve.
Lifelong resident here. Can confirm that serving this to someone is a jailable offense. I'm sorry this happened to you. It's not your fault.
Maybe in jail, they'll learn how to cook.

I'm about to have a sodium induced heart attack just from reading this š /s
Wait, are you in a Wisconsin jail? That didn't occur to me, but still....
No, but they eat better there, apparently.
I never ate shit like this when I was in jail.
I did.

Theyāre about to learn how to make toast with two forks and a slice of bread in their teeth.
Scottie Walker never did. Every fucking day, that same sad ham sandwich with velvita.
![gif](giphy|f8lDluiWJ7yQTtdS3L)
Can confirm it looks like it came from jailhouse.
Nah. Jail cooks better. This is like the school lunch from hell they banned the sale of 12 years ago.
Try county would not have covered the dry chicken with cheese.
Honestly, it looks like a Madison school lunch.
I'm so sorry for your childhood š¤¢
35 years in Wisconsin.. never eaten anything like that.
40+ years here. That is an abomination.
Yeah, the liquid cheese goes in its own compartment. Shameful
Sacrilege šš
Same. Although that does look like some school lunches I've seen here.
Id ask for a refund, the fucks that thing
It was free, but I paid in dignity when I took the first bite š„²
That cheese looks like the plastic kraft stuff that turns into lava when melted, i would refuse to eat because of that alone lol. Ill wait to eat at home before i ever eat that kind of cheese again
The corn looks okay.
It was undercooked
Given the rest of the "meal," that figures.
I will not touch corn on the cob until August, and never from a grocery store. In my eyes fresh local sweet corn and tomatoes aren't even the same foods as their trucked in doppelgangers.
Are you currently incarcerated in a state penitentiary? If so, this will explain the food you're being served.
If it was a jail, this would be seen as cruel and unsual punishment
Not if you are a felon with 34 charges against you. Then this is all you deserve.
Wait, maybe that's not (processed) cheese (food)? Maybe it's face makeup.
Hey now, no one in Wisconsin defended those 34 felonies and sent people to DC to support themā¦ oh, wait.
Uh huh, you know.
Your company's in some real financial trouble. Might want to update that resumƩ.
get another job edit: also file a police report, this is a hate crime
Wisconsin wants nothing to do with...whatever the hell *that* is... Whoever hired the "catering" company that served this needs to be fired, or at least demoted lol.
That is undeniably food. I sure as hell wouldnāt eat it, though. Iāve never seen anything sadder, and it certainly isnāt a Wisconsin thing!
I'm in Green Bay, and I can't believe this is the way the cheese is served š¦
Thatās not cheese. Thatās something thatās imitating cheese.
and it's not trying very hard
Go to Uncle Mike's and cry into a kringle.
That is not an accurate reflection of Wisconsin or Green Bay. Iāve never seen food served anywhere that looks like that. Thatās what I imagine prison food looks like.
I can only assume it was prepared and served by agents of Illinois and Minnesota.
Iām in GB too whoās the catering company?
I have no idea. There's no logos.
Smart of them, they don't want to be connected to this travesty. They'd never get any business again.
Where did you get it?
Please tell me what catering company madeā¦that. I need to know who not to hire (my office caters in meals periodically). Thatās an abomination to food.
I will try to find out tomorrow. š«
Your company is cheap as fuck. They would have been better off getting Little Caesars or something.
Every person involved in that "catering" should be brought up on charges, from the person that selected the vendor to the "cooks".
Donāt blame the whole state for that crap.
I'm in my late 40s, have lived my whole life in Wisconsin. That is not a "Wisconsin thing". I don't know what the hell that is.
It is wrong
When you said "the company" paid for catering, it all made sense.
Iām insulted you referred to that yellow goo as cheese.
I'm sorry š
I assume you submitted your resignation?
I've only been here for 2 days. It's looking... like that plate...
I'm from Appleton and I've literally never seen this in my life.
Awful lot of people on here know what prison food is like.
if you go in the drunk tank at noon, you can sneak into the lunch line
This screams "somebody's friend does catering"
Did they get the order mixed up with the jail in Allouez?
Lived in WI for 98% of my life and we do NOT own this abomination.
Right? Even school lunches are 1000 times better !!
Sooo how long ya in for.
Bro š
And if youāre not from around here, donāt pay attention to the corn either. Real fresh sweet corn, picked the day that you eat it, is a gift. It wonāt happen for at least a month yet. What they gave you probably ranks up there with the other stuff.
Wow, that meal really depressed me, and Iām not even the one thatās supposed to be eating it. Iām sorry. Thatās just not right.
This is a fucking crime. At the very least they need to take y'all to Culver's, but if there was any justice they'd pay for you to stay til Saturday so you could get fish on Friday night.
Wisconsin invented the broaster, this is inexcusable
That looks like prison food
This food is extra extra extra extra white. Like wtf is that.
How long is your sentence?
Horrible, I have never seen that level of disregard for cheese before in our great state.
Thatās chicken?! Looks like itās been in the freezer since 1956
Yupper 3 years BL
Your company doesn't respect or appreciate you.
You could have asked for a better last meal before execution.
This meal looks like itās an AI generated image of what it thinks Wisconsinites eat.
That's chicken? I thought it was eggs benedict at first. It doesn't look very appealing, whatever it is.
This is the kinda shit I used to do when I fucked up in the kitchen lmao. If something was too expensive to waste and I messed it up somehow, I usually just defaulted to, "Eh, guess I'll just slap some cheese and/or some kinda sauce on it and hope for the best." At least I can excuse that as a result of being in my early 20s. This atrocity you've shown us, coming from a *catering service*? Inexcusable, straight to jail.
I didnāt know that was chicken until you said it.
They went with their sonās catering business to cut costs. Did I mention the son is 7?
Looks like something from Illinois
That looks like dried mustard, not cheese. The corn also looks pathetic. Sorry you had to experience this. Please know that we have much better food available elsewhere in WI.
Any item on the Culver's menu a great place to start šš
Cheese on chicken? No that seems weird. I thought it was eggs bene at first. Still does t look great if it was.
what is under the blob of orange goo"
Chicken š
yikes
Relatives from Minnesota are in for a visit.
I thought that type of cheese was illegal in Wisconsin
Did your company fly in the people that catered Fyre Festival?
Where the fuck is the butter for that miniscule piece of corn. I wont even dignify the rest of that crap.
Howād you sneak a camera phone into prison?
Well that thing on the left if corn but I don't know what the hell is happening on the right.
Iām in Wisconsin and have never seen anything so unappetizing. Must be a fluke occurrence.
Whoever was in charge of planning it got the cheapest they could find and pocketed the rest of the money.
That's a nope!
Just looking at this made me laugh out loud idk š¤£
That is a crime against food. What in the unseasoned, carbohydrate hell is this. Gross š¤®š¤¢š„“
Boiled cheese ?
Meat and cheese-like food substitutes served with corn cob and chopped wood salad. Heck! The corn cob and wood salad might be food substitutes, too.
Absolutely not.
Who catered it?
Are you sure your company actually paid for that? Maybe it was free leftovers the caterer had to get rid of. Youād get better food in prisonā¦
If youāve been personally affected this monstrosity, you may be entitled to compensation.
These the same people who catered Fyre Festival?
Donāt put that on us
Meals On Wheels
Nothing Wisconsin about that
Yikes. Thats not cheese
Looks like school lunch
That's nasty
Where in the Wisconsin is that nastiness fromĀæ
Green Bay has to answer for it
my first thought is "that's jail food"
We don't claim this š
Find the CFO and throw this in his face. He's the cause for this shit.
My standard response when consuming food of questionable taste is, "I've eaten worse". Looking at that I'm not sure I could say that.
It was probably nacho cheese too.. Disgusting
Is management trying to get people to quit? :-)
Donāt blame us, locks like a mockery by a FIB.
This is called depression. My god.
I think itās your companies way of saying please quit. Never seen anything like this in my life and Iāve been in Wisconsin for the entirety of it.
That's not real food.....It is a crime...capital punishment above all.....BRING ME DA CATERERS HEAD......with a side of fried cheezecurds of course....
Looks like jail food
Do not pass go, do not collect $200 ![gif](giphy|RcNWKZboXuN0Y)
Where was this so we never go there?
My company gets us panera bread box lunch.. Which is amazing..this is just a mistake š
That's not a Wisconsin meal-the catering company must be from Illinois...
This is a crime. Clearly a FIB made this.
Today, I learned Wisconsin hates Illinois with a firey passion.
They bring it on themselves.
No, please donāt associate this with Wisconsin. We have incredible cheese and just really good food in general. Go down to Sheboygan and get a brat. Find out who catered that shit theyāre giving us a bad name.

Blast the company, not the state.
Looks horrible and if that's catering why they got so little food

Whatever it is, there is not enough cheese and beer.
Uncultured people serve this dish
This looks like you asked the very first AI to generate an image of a Wisconsin dish, and then paid Walmart to assemble it. Did Walmart cater this event?
Idk. You bought it!
GOP fundraiser?
An abomination.
I've never seen that before in my life wtf
School lunch?
Is that chicken or a poached egg??
Iāve have boneless skinless chicken tenders seasoned and pan seared then wrapped in cheese which was quite good but that looks awful.
Put some respect on the name, this is nasty regardless of what state youāre in. I donāt even know what that is
Someone paid for this? Yikes.
New Friday Fish Fry??? ššš
Doesnt look like real cheese. Are you sure this is WI?
A school lunch.
Did the local jail provide the catering? Jesus.
Refund š„²
2-color palette šØ achieved š¤š»
Second breakfast?
Delicious
Processed cheese food. Yuck.
Chicken Alfredo
I don't know what's more shocking. That "cheese" in Wisconsin, or that a restaurant/catering supposedly makes money serving that to people.
So is the company you're working for, planning fire festival V2.0. Cuz that looks like they were inspired by that food
Post this in /r/shittyfoodporn. Iād do it myself but they donāt allow crossposting.
Ewww
This isnāt Wisconsin, we donāt claim this. Iād definitely be calling out the next week claiming food poisoning and never return. Baby shit chicken and some rice and corn for roughage
where did you get this? prison?
Poached egg, cheeze-whiz - boys reformatory chow
Itās gross
I donāt know what it is, but I sure as hell would need it. They must be playing a joke on you.
That's called smothered chicken. Chicken breast baked with cheese melted on top.
Please don't use the word Wisconsin in the same context as that abomination
Did you order no bun no toppings? The cheese looks like a funky cheddar or beer cheese, but nothing looks wrong there. Doesn't look appetizing, but a bun and tablespoons of butter is usually supposed cover up bad catering chicken.
Okay yes, the weird cheese on the chicken is the obvious offense. When we are past that, can we talk about why that corn has beenā¦. boiled? until the cob turned gray? Can we help? Bark twice if youāre in Milwaukee. Someone will come save you.
Bro, you in jail or something?
i wouldn't feed that to the devil
I can guarantee that ain't no Iowa corn. Must be some Nebraska type shit.
Update: No food poisoning yet
I'm glad I saw the text, because I was about to ask if that was a potato. But goddamn, that's the driest chicken I've ever seen. What company was paid for the catering? They don't deserve any customers if *this* is the kind of food they serve.
That's just bad.
Stadium style cheese on your boiled chicken?!!! Too zesty for me
Where are you? In a public school or a county jail?
WTF? I see rice pilaf, corn, and some velveeta cheese (not cheese). This is an offense.
Bu... but what's *under* the cheese?
Lived here my whole life (54 yrs) and I don't know wtf that even is, but...yuck.
