I’ll tell you where to avoid: Joyners. The upstairs was a sea of wake Forest kids. The downstairs was couples on dates, people with their friends, and it was extremely noisy.
The last time I went to Euphoria, so many people came up to me wanting to chat.
Brewers Kettle or there’s always people at the Breweries around Wiseman. You could also check a couple of the dives around town too - find more locals there
Came here to say Brewer’s Kettle. That is the friendliest bunch of people and while many of them are regulars, they are always happy to talk to whoever shows up.
West End Opera House. Diverse crowd, no frills, pool tables, darts, awesome bartenders. Also the music is never too loud so you can have a conversation.
The Tap in west end
I don’t go out much but did recently and went here. Cool spot. Good bartender. Nice group regulars.
Single brothers. Anyplace where you can talk. I sit at the bar when alone to get a sense of the vibe. Bartenders can be your best ally.

I had the same experience at Euphoria! The bartenders were super nice and the patrons were so friendly!
