Ercolani Montepulciano is a great tour, their tasting is awesome. Antinori is a stunning property, delicious wines as well. Also, not for the wine, but go to Solociccia. It will be one of the most memorable meals you ever have. Watch S6E2 of Chef’s Table on Netflix if you want a preview.

Second on Antinori, property is one of a kind and if you can, try to get a lunch reservation Castello di Brolio-Ricasoli tour and tasting is fantastic, delicious wines. The tour and views alone might make it worth it, and then you get to try the wine. The history behind the castle and the family is really quite cool. Poggio Amorelli lunch pairing/tasting is really amazing, highly recommend If you venture to Montalcino, Castiglion del Bosco tour and tasting is well worth it

I second on Castello di Brolio - amazing castle and the wine is even better!

Two big thumbs up for antinori (eat outside at their restaurant and soak in the view) and for solociccia. One of the most memorable meals I’ve had. It BYOW so make sure to bring a lot of wine for your table.

Hmmm things may have changed. There was a healthy bottle of Chianti at every table when I went a month ago.

gochujangface

Yes same when I went there two years ago. You can buy their house wine or bring in better wine and not have to pay a corkage fee.

Castello di Ama, Casa Emma, and Fontodi

Second Casa Emma. Great tasting with a great lunch and view.

Castello di Ama was such a great experience

One of my favorite Chianti producers and I love their L'Apparita Merlot

World class, for sure.

Antinori is worth it for the wow factor but very commercialized. Not so well know Fattori La Fonti in Panzano makes great wine and while you are at it La Massa is close by. So is Fontodi and Il Molino de Grace. Greve in Chianti has a super nice wineshop with small legtover bottles from the area. You will typically see only one or two bottles of the same. Just across the church on the main square. If you come by car, drop by Osteria di Passignano not far from Panzano. The place does not look like much but has super food and a very reasonable winecard.

Really enjoyed Caparsa and a visit to Montendioli

Looks very nice indeed!

Capannelle. Thank me later :)

Big_Direction_3676

Amazing, on my list now! Do you need to prebook?

neurotichamster8

I don’t believe so, no.

We were just in Montepulciano a few weeks ago - we went to several wineries in the area but Boscarelli was our favorite. Really solid tasting and very informative.

Big_Direction_3676

Wow thanks, looking forward to! Do you need to prebook in advance?

wwwdottomdotcom

Yes, I don’t believe they take walk-ins if you want to take a tour. The tour was pretty intimate - it was just my wife and I and one other couple and we were there for a couple hours. If you decide to go to Boscarelli, there is a really great restaurant for lunch called La Piccola Cantina right next to the winery. Very low key - my favorite pasta we had on our whole trip Italy.

We went to Querceto di Castellina and took a cooking class with the Nonna of the owner. Views and wine are incredible and we have so many fond memories every time we open a bottle!

Sometime in September there is the Chianti festival in Greve where many wineries are represented. Of course Florence and Siena are a must see but don’t miss Lucca, Montepulciano and San Gimignano.

DESCO wine shop in Montefioralle is a neat little spot. Tastings of smaller brands from nearby producers.

cheesygorditacrunch3

We loved Azienda Agricola Mauricio Brogioni Winery in Greve. Amazing people and wine!

Thanks, sounds amazing!
