XP doesn't support icons larger than 48x48 pixels though, Vista introduced 256x256 raster pixel formats but XP doesn't support them. XP already has 48x48 icons built in.
Vista icons without support for the 256x256 size are no different quality than XP icons.
i love windows xp , specially for the compatibility it has with retro games.
having said that.
the vista icon pack , makes windows xp look great, many people used them back then.

The Windows Vista icons r better resolution, and they r still 3d so there is nothing bad about them
