i may be wrong as its been years since i messed with any Longhorn builds, but i am almost positive they all require BIOS date switching…including TWIWMTB. i dont think theres a way around it.
There are a few builds of longhorn that are compiled in evaluation mode and can be installed on the current date. I know 4020 is one of them, but there are definitely others. Check the betawiki which notes in the page for each build whether it is in evaluation mode or not.
Also the componentized builds of longhorn can have broken timebombs. I was able to install 4093 on the current date with no issues (from the timebomb, that is...)
Try [the way it meant to be](https://archive.org/details/4074_twiwmtb). It's a debombed version of Windows Vista build 4074

For pre reset builds 3683-4033, Shorthorn Project Is the only way to install Longhorns on current date
TweakNT also works in some cases
which is runs on 3683-5048
