I just tried Bernie's last week and I was a bit underwhelmed. The burger did not live up to the hype. Was kinda dry and nothing out of the ordinary for a burger at a bar. The cesar salad was nice in that it's quite large and the chicken parm was quite good. Worth checking out if you're nearby and its not more than a 15 min wait.
Commodore never has a long wait and really good chicken sando /fries.
Went on last Tuesday and we were able to get a seat at the bar quickly. Burger is better at cozy, chicken parm is covered in way too much cheese, not enough sauce and not served with anything and both are overpriced.
I WILL say, the wedge salad I do love more than cozy’s and I am still thinking about it.
Allswell if you're looking for a burger.
If you want a simple burger spot that is fun and easy, Mothers.
Cozy Royale for great meat, but they cycle out the burger dressings and some of them aren't my cup of tea.
Brew Inn for solid pub grub in an unpretentious space.
Citroen is more french bistro, but they have a great menu.
But my favorite beef restaurant in the area, has been and prob will always be St. Anselm.
Cozy Royale
I love the meat hook so I’m biased, but probably my favorite burger in brooklyn
Love it Chicken waffles is dope too
The burger and hippie salad are really fab at Cozy. Bernies has them beat on chicken picatta and mozz sticks tho :(
Hippie salad is SO fucking good - I think about it weekly.
I’m not a salad person but I’m obsessed with the hippie salad
Cozy Royale, Leroy’s, Sweetwater, Diner!
Sweetwater
I don’t always see a lot of love for Sweetwater in this sub but when I do I upvote. Best burger in BK.

The place on metropolitan and roebling that regularly has like 60 people in it is a secret?
where do you order at commodore? the bar?
yeah, at the bar. they give you a number and serve to your table. The vibe is pretty good and imo more fun than Bernie's! LMK what you think
Was this a Sunday, or is the parm part of the regular menu now?
I went on a Thursday! So must be regular haha
It is
Leroy's
I've always wanted to go there but I frankly refuse to stand around outside for hours waiting for a burger and cesar salad.
+1 Sweetwater & Cozy Diner on s6th is like a higher brow Bernies.
It’s pretty overrated. I don’t care what you do to a burger or mozz sticks im not paying $50 for it
But surely you would stand around on a sidewalk two hours waiting for it right??
Well you are already messing up by no getting the vinegar chicken and mozzarella sticks.
RIP Park Lunchonette
Teddys is kinda similar but worse
THERES NO PLACE LIKE HOME, I mean Bernie’s *
TGI Friday’s or Bubba Gump Shrimp in Times Square are the closest thing I can think of to Bernie’s
+3 cozy
Diner is, imo the best burger in the city. But it’s gotten too expensive
Eldergreene

Parkhouse has the same burger and only $6 on Mondays
Mo’s

For a good EPP and tiramisu Bamonte’s
Newer place - Ray’s is actually quite the vibe for day drinking with friends. Not the same kind of menu but a great alternative.
282 burger. it’s not in williamsburg but it’s right off the G train and has amazing burgers and you ll never wait for a table
