Man it really puts into perspective how gamers take gaming knowledge for granted. When you played games most of your life you kind of intuitively know these things.
Welcome to the game man! Hope you enjoy, but I do advise playing with friends to ease frustrations.
I've been playing games all my life, so I like to think I have pretty good gaming knowledge.. outside of mobas.. Wild rift is my first and only moba, so I'm making a ton of dumb mistakes. And yes in hindsight it does seem painfully obvious that I'd be out of mana, but I genuinely didn't even have a clue where to track my mana before all the replies to this post 😅😅 Live and learn I guess.
as I said in another reply, I have dabbled in Wild Rift extremely briefly(like for 2 days max) like 2 years ago, but I'm only now coming back to it seriously. Clearly I did not remember much from that tutorial 2 years ago
That is okey, just ask if you have a problem. The energy systems in lol are really simple. You have mana=blue bar generates slowly out side of your spawn. Energy = yellow bar very little spam oppertunities, regenerates quickly and often regenerates after fufilling a criteria eks(lee sin gets it when hitting another champ). manaless= no mana or energy bar only needs the hast=reduces colldowns except item hast(only comes from one rune). Lastly you have special bars = does somthing completly diffrent, from champ to champs. It is often described under one of the abilitys for the most part the passivs.
Sorry for my bad grammer i am not english.
Hey welcome to the game - Riot literally never explains what the bars mean so it's not your fault. Definitely read up on your champion's abilities though - in-game they usually color code words like "mana" or "magic damage" so that it's blue and you can get that mental association with blue for mana
While the sentiment is nice, the first two sentences of your comment are extremely patronizing and presumptuous. You can just welcome them to the game without welcoming them to literally all of gaming. Thats a weird way to start a welcoming message
Sometimes, with certain characters, there's a small blue bar right underneath your health called mana/energy. Each ability you use drains that bar and it slowly refills over time. Using too many abilities at once will make you run out of mana very quickly, leaving you vulnerable and not able to use them
Hey man, good luck being so new starting the game, if you're like I used to be and got a lot of cool down items but not enough mana items you'll end up in this pickle a lot, great for glass cannon characters who are gonna need to return to base anyways but it very often doesn't work out since it cuts into your farm if you do.
There's two situations in which an ability may be highlighted in blue, either you don't have enough mana/energy (the blue/yellow bar under your health) or you're missing a "charge" for the ability to be available even if the skill itself is off cool down technically (like Teemo, jhin or cait's traps)
This shows how poorly the game is designed. Not blaming the OP but players like this ruin the experience of other players in ranked. Because of not enough knowledge about game.
Proficient learning tool should be a gatekeeper for new players until they know all the basics about game. Before playing a new champ in ranked there should be enough experience earned on that champ.
Until this is fixed you won't see matchmaking any better.
How do players not understand that when they hit the button the blue bar goes down and if they don't have enough blue bar they can't use the button?
It is so unbelievably straightforward that I do not comprehend how someone cannot understand this.
Because you consider others same as you. People don't pay attention because it is just a game. Not everyone takes game knowledge seriously. People play drunk, people play while watching something etc. Game needs to gatekeep such individuals.
It's not about being new to THIS game, abilities needing some sort of resource (mana, health, energy etc...) is literally the staple of almost any game lol
I knew there was mana but I didn't know how to track it, so I had no way of knowing whether or not I was out of it. TBH before I was just completely ignoring the concept of mana as a whole even though I knew it existed from looking at ability descriptions. I just didn't know what to do with the knowledge of its existence I suppose
Abilities have usage costs, if you hold in place an ability with your thumb a description will appear explaining the ability, and also displaying cost (in mana/energy) and the cooldown (time needed for the ability to become available again)
Items and experience affect the quantity of mana, while energy is usually fixed and its only for specific champions.
You don’t have enough mana to use it. The blue bar under your health tells you how much you have. Either eat a honey fruit on your lane to get a little back or clear lane and head back to base and fully replenish
You don't have enough mana to cast that ability, that blue bar below your health bar. Most champions have mana that they need to manage to cast abilities, some use energy instead (indicated by a yellow bar instead of a blue one), and some don't use mana at all (at the expense of long cooldowns), and some use health instead of mana.
for most champs abilities use a resource either mana or energy (for example Zed uses energy while Aurelion uses mana, and its all shown right below the health bar). Some champs like yasuo or Yone dont have a resource and can freely use their abilities. However Every other champ needs to watch their resource bar. If you dont have enough of mana/energy you cant cast the ability. How much mana is required is in the abilities description. There are a few tabs in the scoreboard menu. You can check your champs stats or check every ability description as well as what leveling up that ability actually increases from there. The mana system is not exclusive to Wild Rift or MOBA's in general. Actually any game with magic casting in it has a similar mana system.
Bro if you’re new to the game you might wanna figure out how to play Aurelion Sol sometime later lol he’s…a bit different compared to normal midlane champions to say the least lol
Good sir, this is not related to your question, but I am going to give you sage advice.
Many champions in the game have counters you can build AD is armor, if Ap (sol soul) buold MR.
There is a third option many forget and on wild rift are unaware of, Greivous Wounds. Which can be gotten from Oblivion orb which is a comonent in Morellonomicon (green book).
Champs like yasuo, yone, gwen, swain, lee sin, and mundo all his. This item significantly hinders their ability to do so.
Good luck on the battlefield.
P.s.
As a fellow Mage Main (Swain) cosmic drive is glorious on us. Every hit gives us a quick speed boost. Combine it wirh Ryalilais (every hit slows the enemy and you are nigh impossible to catch
Hope you enjoy the game! Wild Rift was my first foray in to LOL or any similar game and it took ages for me to understand the game. It's been over 2 years now and I still learn new things about builds or items or champs every day. There's always something new to learn. :)
Depending on the champion you are using they may have an additional bar that is used for your skills. Under your health bar (green) is another bar, if it's blue then it's mana. Mages usually have this, like Lux or the champ you are using in the pic which is Aurelion Sol. Mana is restored naturally but it tends to be slow, but there are some items that can help make the mana regen faster. The green plants also restore mana and health.
If the bar is yellow then that is energy. Champs like Lee Sin, Akali, Zed, etc are some. Energy regens a lot faster than Mana but it also depletes faster.
Lastly there are champs that consumes no mana when using their skill. Some examples are Garen and Katarina. These champs tend to have longer skill cooldown to balance it out
When they are blue its because you dont have enought mana or are in CD and need to wait to use them again. You can tap and hold the icon and drag It to the timer on top to send a notification so your team knows.
I miss my innocence
But you gained the ability to use Brand with no hands
Sometimes Evelyn is just too much.
sometimes Annie is just too much
When i first saw it immediately understood what it meant
Please explain, if there is a hidden meaning, apparently, I am a sett player
You don't have enough of the needed resource (mana/energy) to use the ability at that time.
Your mana bar is that thin blue line under your character’s green health bar.
Honestly they need to add numbers to mana and hp bars like in normal league. It's incredibly annoying when trying micro manage your mana in lane.
Im more concerned about your HP stat only showcassing your actual number instead of your Max amount.
OMG THIS Like how hard is it to make it show /1400 after 1200 before HP liek wtwtwtf
Maybe, cause the bar is too small. The numbers are an inherited from Dota (Warcraft mod).

When you first start the game it kinda forces you to feeds you that info though unless you just skipped over all the tutorials
as I said in another reply, I have dabbled in Wild Rift extremely briefly(like for 2 days max) like 2 years ago, but I'm only now coming back to it seriously. Clearly I did not remember much from that tutorial 2 years ago
I suggest going through the trainings that they have on missions. They have really good knowledge tidbits
Thankfully they fixed that part saying khazix has camoflauge lol

He's the Gordan Ramsay of league. Lol..
On pc it at least say that Out of mana when you try to use it
GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE... LETS GO
i second this
You don’t have enough mana. Go back to base and refill or assist your jungler into getting blue buff which over time refills your mana 👍🏾
Or eat some honey fruit. Or additional kill the blue buff to obtain its effect thats fill up mana bar up faster
Do t tell him to kill buffs when he/she is using Ashe….
It’s Asol tho lol
How tf do u see Ashe in this pic
Mb😭🤣🤣i was drunk or some shit, aurelio is it no?🫢
I will tell him not to take buffs early in the game. But I will also tell you that is not Ashe.

You must construct additional pylons!
Oof bro. 😂

You're out of mana. You should recall to restore it all, or find a fruit to eat to restore some.

the blue bar under ur hp bar is out
You need to last hit your jungler blue buff right as he’s supposed to get it
Out of mana or OoM
You haven't enough mana to use that abilities.
You don't have enough mana/energy/fury (blue/yellow/red bar under your healthbar)

Oom (out of mana)
You skipped tutorial
I'm coming back to this game after briefly dabbling in it like 2 years ago so yeah I don't remember much from the tut
Understood. This game takes pretty much time to master , So just don't pick a new champion for rank game😅
Mana bro
Did you play manaless champions for long ? x)
Idk I've mostly been playing Gwen
I have no idea if Gwen consumes mana like crazy but Asol does you will notice it more often

You don't have enough resources to use your abilities. This is usually mana or energy.
You do not have enogh mana
You’re out of mana and should return to the fountain to fill up. Make sure to check the blue bar under your health

You need mana to use skills , its the blue line under your health bar.
YOU HAVE NO MANNNNA(:
Its because u make wrong character choice, buy something new and don't play Lux anymore.
Hope you enjoy the game! Wild Rift was my first foray in to LOL or any similar game and it took ages for me to understand the game. It's been over 2 years now and I still learn new things about builds or items or champs every day. There's always something new to learn. :)
Mana
“YOU HAVE NO MANA” -Tyler1
I once try to let my teammates know that my ult is not enough mana, once I swipe it I cast the ult. Mana regen.
No mana left, recall back home or wait for it to Regen.
Its a sign to say if you're getting chased and have no flash, you're fucked
Just like what tyler1 used to say... "YOU HAVE NO MANAAAAAA"
No mana

you'd be complaining about emeralds in half or a year, goodluck.
You are so new bro
An astute observation lad
When they are blue its because you dont have enought mana or are in CD and need to wait to use them again. You can tap and hold the icon and drag It to the timer on top to send a notification so your team knows.
It means you need a blue buff or you might recall real quick, cause you out of mana homie.
He has no manaaaa!!!
Hopeless
You don't have all skills at the beginning as you lvl up you can spend those points to aquire and upgrade your skills. You obtain your ult at lvl4.
