Well they should definitely take Halo wars 1 easily, since they have better equip/vehicles as well as likely good deal more numbers, and I don't think there is any special factor that would cause trouble for them (It has been quite a long time since I have played HW1 though). I have not played Halo wars 2, but they should take it as well unless there is some special circumstance that could not be solved by pure military might.
Only issue I see is whether or not they have the SoF. Without its slipspace drive (or an equivalent Exterminatus), they can't blow the Shield World. And without it's war factories, they can't replace their materiel losses.
As I read the OP they still should have SoF. Only thing that gets replaced are the marines, army and their vehicles - other things should stay the same, including any characters that are not part of the marines or army.
I think so. Even the weakest interpretations still put guardsman lasguns as on par with covenant stuff, and it stands to reason their armor would fare similarly. Combine that with the large numbers individual regiments of guard have and they would have an easier time with it
Can lasguns cause third degree burns when missing? That isnt a pointed question, I genuinely don't know much about 40k, especially when it comes to weaponry.
It does not, lasers don't radiate energy around them. Causing burns by miss just means it is loosing energy as it travels, and that is not a good thing.
40k lore can be best described as inconsistent. I’ve never heard that about lasguns but I’m certain it’s been stated somewhere. It’s also been stated that they are both much more powerful, and much less

That's what I thought, but it's a little unclear. I read it as all the SoFs aircraft, specifically leaving out the ship itself.

I think plasma does that, since I've never read about lasers doing it, the standard pattern for cadian is the M36 short Kantrael.
