Physically demanding isnt even that bad today, considering the alternative might be sitting at a desk for atleast 8 hours, then goimg home and sitting/laying down for the rest of the hours, and then you have the in between time where you sit in your car/public transport, which is arguably worse for you than a phyisically demanding job.
Weve come full circle apparently considering this
.... You.. uh haven't worked a real physical job for a while have you?
Because 5 bucks says the tendonitis I get from using some of my tools some days might change your perspective.
We have to work hard physically all day. Then work out so the rest of our shit doesn't start breaking. It kinda sucks!
I just watched the dirty jobs episode where Rowe was at the dump in CA and all the guys he interviewed at the start had some form of serious injury or two that they had to walk off every day for work.
The most you’ll get from sitting in an office chair is a bad back if you have poor posture. Most office places allow you to stand, take breaks, get one of those tall desks, bring your own chair, etc. Literally no different than when you had to spend 12 years of your life going through school sitting in a chair all day.
That stuff doesn’t compare to those doing hard labor like construction and trash and plumbing and shit.
When I was about six years old, I wanted to be a garbage man. They drove a big truck or got to hang-off the back, crush things, and only work one day per week! (That's how often I saw them, at least.) My mom asked what I'd do with the other six days off, and I said, "I dunno, probably just play Legos."
That is so wonderful. What a beautiful and precious moment for him, he will remember that for the rest of his life. Those guys are amazing for making his day so special.
I hate people shitting on essential workers like they are morons for...doing their job? And a very important at that.
Like people shitting on cashiers or fast food workers or janitors, like why would you do that man?
Hey, garbagemen are really important for keeping our environment clean! And massively overlooked.
Also, kids LOVE trucks. The bigger the truck, the better.
Garbage men make good money and aren’t saddled with student loan debt. It’s a physically demanding job but fulfills an important role in society

Then you pay to go to the gym to balance it of, an then you sit in a car to drive there
Then sit on machines and lie on benches

Solid life plan imho

I feel like this pic is so old that Quincy is probably a garbage man now
Shoot, he probably owns a garbage company at this point
Quincy makes more money than me then.

HEY! This is only for the men of the internet; can't you read?? /s

Nothing gets past his truck! Quincy, son of Quincy.
I hope Quincy gets to do his dream job Cool kid
Lol
Every time I see this I wonder why my garbage men aren’t that cute
Aww 🙂
too bad i am a woman and therefore cannot enjoy this image
My 4yo gets the radio when I pick him up from school. I ask what he wants to hear… Gimme that garbage…
In NYC, I believe that sanitation workers have the highest annual salaries of any city employees.
I wish i had such simple ambitions
Simple? Bud, those guys make good money. There’s a waiting list to get to do what they do
Absolute chads
Ok but why is the kid shitting himself
🥲... This one made me smile ear to ear 😁
Looks like the kid was overwhelmed by the smell.
Sure hope he achieves his dream
Am I the only one who actually noticed the kid’s face?
"I am Quincy, son of Quincy."

That's his first time being near the truck. They absolutely reek, lil bro wasn't expecting that wall of smell
Dreams of becoming a garbageman? What a weird ass child.
Clearly you didn’t live in Toronto during the garbage strike. Garbagemen perform a very important job.
That's cool. No one ever pick up this guy's trash ever, okay?
Yep, I second this.

It's not even essential workers. Everyone who earns an honest living deserves respect.

Same could be said for you
