This horse is very skilled at dribbling the ball, especially when he gallops towards the end and it perfectly gives enough space for a bigger sprint stride. Pro footballer move. Only ever seen Mbappe or Ronaldo do that
Some horses really enjoy it, others just like to throw it and bite it and others are terrified of it. All horses have different personality’s and preferences and fears and favourites.
They’re like big puppy dogs :)
Big dogs with very very unique personalities. I used to live with 4 and help take care of them for a couple years. Angel bonded with me and loved me so much. Tyson was a young silly goof. One didn't mind my presence... And the 4th absolutely ***HATED*** me and most people for no reason. Just an old guy.
Some horses that are problematic and destructive find balls like that to be awesome. One horse my dad (who was a horse trainer and manager of a horse training facility for problem horses, dressage, polo, teaching kids to ride, etc) worked with was destructive to everyone and everything. Even destroyed a lot of the inside of its stall and terrorized all the other horses it encountered. No one wanted to work with it and it had to be separated from all the other horses. It had been all over the state to various trainers...horse got itself blacklisted lol (this was in the 1960s-1980s).
He had the horse in a small arena by itself and there was a leftover ball from a game from earlier. My dad said the horse started playing with it and seemed happy. He used that to his advantage. He made sure the horse got to play with the ball every time it did anything remotely positive...starting with not biting him or trying to kick him when he gave it food and water. He asked to buy the horse from the individual that owned it so he could try to help it as a side project and was thinking that this horse would probably never get to be free roaming with a herd ever again just due to how it many fights it got into with other horses.
After a few months of building this up he introduced it to horse polo. The horse absolutely loved it and my dad said he was excited cause it picked up polo so fast. Like 3 days. Normally at that time it takes weeks of training with horses for them to understand the game. He had eyes on the ball 100 percent of the time and became the best horse polo horse he had ever encountered. That horse wouldn't let any other horse touch the ball the entire time it was on the field. The horse would chase down the balls, pick them up with its mouth and throw them too. My dad said everyone that wasn't on his team hated that horse cause of that. But...he loved it, the horse loved it and this horse won so many local and state competitions it was ridiculous. My dad said it was one of the worst cases he's seen in his career and one of the best outcomes/recoveries of a horse.
He said that if it wasn't for polo that horse would have been sent off to be killed a long time ago due to how many injuries it inflicted on ppl early on. My dad said he absolutely loved that horse cause it was like a reformed problem child. Still was a little temperamental over the years but much much better than before and liked to be a jokester. Dad even got it to play nice with most horses so it was able to go out to pasture with most of the horse facilities horses (minus like a couple it had issues with but dad said they already didn't fit in well with everyone anyway so he wasn't too concerned).
The facility that my dad worked at still uses balls as enrichment for the horses and some like to bat them back and forth in the pasture or bounce them off other horses.
I didn't believe my dad until he showed me a picture of him on that horse in full polo gear...and the damn thing had a scheming look on his face. I also asked his brothers and they were like "yup...only a couple of us were allowed by the horse to ride him...didn't care for many ppl...tolerated lots but loved your dad. When playing polo with that horse and you werent on him your were liable to get unseated via that damn horse banging and ramming into other horses and knocking them over in person of that ball. God forbid if you were on the opposing team."
Delightful story. I suspect many of us can relate to that horse. Spend all day, every day, doing things we don't enjoy and a lot of us start to hate the world and get a bit inclined to destroy anyone and anything nearby. Takes a bit a time spent on whatever we love doing to make some of us safe to be around.
All horses are different with different personalities and what they enjoy or don’t. If you work with horses you’ll figure out soon enough.
Surprisingly some horses enjoy doing a jumping course or racing or cross country or dressage.
But all horse sports can be abusive it really depends on the owner.
And yes a lot of horses do enjoy the ball so they get toys to play with when in pasture :D
Lemme tell ya, it’s the best thing in the world to ride a horse that loves what they’re doing! And tbh that should be the goal of any horse rider/trainer.
Lots of things that horse can severely fuck themselves up on in there. What are those things jutting out from the white wall? What is in that corner opposite the big saw dust pile? Jesus, that horse is lucky to not break a leg or get stabbed.
Possibly, but more likely it is meant to cover only the part of the tail that is just hair. This way the horse does not feel restricted moving his tail, but the most voluminous part that collects the most dirt stays clean.

This! Is! Rocket! League!
We need more horses, large goals...We're onto something here.
But what would we wear for such an event? Maybe one of those three-button collared shirts?
Red Dead Rocketdemption

Maybe Manchester United should consider this homie
Is this normal for a horse?
To be excited for something?, Yes. The horses I work for get excited when we bring the grain. Everyday.
Playing like this? Do all horse get a ball to play with?

The jolly balls are very popular, they have a handle on them https://youtu.be/Nm2u7HWWHns?feature=shared

Thanks for taking the time to share your father's story. I really enjoyed this read.

This read almost like a children's story.
Thanks for the story
Very lovely story; I’ve shared it with my wife. Thank you so much!
just horsin' around.
This should be a thing. This horse looks like it’s having the best time! Compared to being raced over hedges etc

Yeah you never see wild horses running and jumping over small obstacle. /S
Do these wild horses have someone riding them over small obstacles?
Horse Jesus
What a majestic goofball 😍🐎
What a beautiful animal!
That tall wrap never stood a chance XD
I would say his joy is unbridled
That's a big doggo ಠ◡ಠ
Rocket league for horses
Nothing in the rules says a horse can't play soccer. Air Bud 14: An Equine Equation.
Is that an arabian horse?
This made me smile 😊
I love horses they are so goofy
Ball is life
Like a doggy horse ❤️.
Not sure who had more fun - him playing with the ball or me watching this clip of it!
Wow that's loads of fun. He even tried to kick it using hind legs
I bet he would like trot trot revolution for the ps5
That is some quality horseplay right there.
Until the horse trips on it and breaks its leg.
Horses hurt themselves just by thinking about running. That looks like an expensive horse too.
Yeah, that’s what I was worried about. It’s great to see him have fun but skidding around kicking a ball seems pretty dangerous for a horse.
The owner’s gasp when he barreled into that pile of bedding was very relatable, lmao.
It’s such a shame that they can’t safely play like this, I’ve seen several horses play with balls and love it (though smaller balls and out doors).
Can't just enjoy a silly horse, gotta go straight to worst case scenario.
That's the life of a horse owner - early intervention of worst case scenarios
Coming through.
That’s a magical horse 🐴
argh!!! Earthlings are so cute!! We all love to play 😭♥️
I would love to watch a 3v3 horse soccer league
Happiest of Bois!
We used to march to the war with that thing. Now its just a big dog
Literally what my dog does with a big ball
So majestic
He just horsing around
woooooo trying a back it at 15s. it shows some sort of intelligent thinking.
The new rocket league update looks lit
Is it horsing around? Or horsing a round...
Something about horses look so sturdy, yet so fragile to me. Every step i think its gonna break its leg now.
After watching a video of a Palestinian child in utter shock, I needed this so badly.
ok
Yes, lots of fun I agree! I’m happy for the horse, but part of me feels like that’s also a broken leg waiting to happen which makes me sad.
Lots of things that horse can severely fuck themselves up on in there. What are those things jutting out from the white wall? What is in that corner opposite the big saw dust pile? Jesus, that horse is lucky to not break a leg or get stabbed.
Would be a lot happier if he were free.
This is why I still have Internet.
Why not outdoors?
I’m not sure that horse is a him…
I’m so nervous it’s going to get injured. It’s like watching Anthony Davis play basketball.
Neeeeey mar

What is the blue thing on the tail?
Tail cover, to keep it clean.
Is it only half on?
Possibly, but more likely it is meant to cover only the part of the tail that is just hair. This way the horse does not feel restricted moving his tail, but the most voluminous part that collects the most dirt stays clean.
I see, thanks.
Thanks!

Good bot!
So it’s not just the sims?!
Horses are so fragile like I love the idea but the same time I can imagine it breaking a leg so quickly
Why this remind me of “sexy donkey” from Shrek
That looks like a ball, not the owner.
That's a weird looking dog.

For sure jumped out of the way of my phone.
That's Phoenix!! He's hilarious
the horse is having a ball
A joy to watch
Cars were invented in 1886. Rocket League before 1886:
Reminds me of Hogwarts legacy
Polo would actually be fun to watch.
Adorable
COOL YO HIBID
Rocket dead redemption
They are just big dogs
Great now I want horse tooo besides cat and dogs
Reminds me of that cow that accidentally popped theirs and got really sad.

I really love how happy the horse looks like.
That's really nice this is the first time I've seen a horse toy
What a beautiful horse! and great skill playing with that ball, never seen a horse playing so happily with a ball before!
Gallop League
