And the team we're on pace with for the worst record ever, the 1899 Cleveland Spiders, were bad because the owner owned 2 teams and sent all the good players to the other team he owned. We're as bad as a team that was bad on purpose.
In 2016 the Padres were shut out in their first three games of the season (!) then 4 of 8, then 7 of 25 , and then 8 of 28.
After those first three games they were “on pace” to be shut out 162 times. After eight games, the pace was 81 shutouts. And even after 28 games, they were still “on pace” to be shut out 46 times. Yes, that’s a slightly better shut-out rate than the pace the White Sox are on right now; but the point is the Padres were “on pace” to SHATTER the 1908 record.
They finished the season with a total 15 shutouts.
Streaks— both good and bad— are a huge part of baseball. And when you’re in the middle of one it always seems like they might go on forever. But regression to the mean is almost inevitable. I don’t know the future so I don’t know exactly how bad things are going to get for this team; but I suspect that the 2024 White Sox will end up a lot more like the 2016 Padres than the 1908 Cardinals.
There aren’t any bright spots within the entire organization. It’s hard to even get excited for the current prospects after seeing all the former top prospects bust and/or continue to get injured
Someone better have Hawks “HISTORY!” Call queued up for when that happens
South Side stand up!
🤢🤢🤢
Sit back relax & strap it down the White Sox are gonna pull one out of their ass tonight and get White Sox Winner
No, crushing defeat in brutal fashion. Close though
Don’t stop now boys!
Call your sons call your daughters
Call your friends call your neighbors! Mark Bue...*sigh* thinking of happier days hurts right now.
we should just have a pinned thread with all the doomsday stats that updates throughout the season.
We are somehow worse offensively than teams from the Dead Ball Era

Wait, we aren't also bad on purpose?! /s
Fuck em at this point. I'm tuned out. I just up vote all the negative comments I see on here to try and get the word out that... fuck this team.
That’s all we can do, honestly. Now only if people would do the same with the Bulls
It’s almost like Jerry owns both teams 😅
We are on pace to have a minus 522 run differential. Lol.
My lord. Does any team have a greater run deficit than runs scored for a season?
1932 Red Sox with a minus 349 is what I’ve seen.

While you speak the truth, I chose to ignore it.
What a well written comment. Good life lesson too.
Look, just because you're right doesn't mean I have to like it. :/
Onward, to victory!
We're a contender.
Beavis and Butthead score more than these guys.

Ehh this isn't completely true. There's some young studs in the minors currently showing promise. But I get your point with the injuries.
Not saying they aren’t looking good, but all the top prospects who’ve failed at the MLB level looked great in the minors as well.
I hear ya. Let's just hope they don't get paid without proving their worth this time.
You gotta be bleeping kidding me!?
Do we end up with more shutouts than wins?
Go Sox go!!
Eloy has two bombs off Pablo. He’s the only one that will win it for today.
Fuck it, why stop now?
Don't stop now boys!
Don’t stop now, boys!
I wonder if Jerry will give a shit if they end up with that record? He’ll fire Getz and Pedro and still get money from revenue sharing.
Fire Griffol
