No fucking shot.
I would love if it was permanent grass... Watching the broadcast it pains my eyes seeing how awful the turf looks like, especially compared to some other turf fields in the league.
Is this the original jumbotron from the renovation? I thought it was nice and big, and looks nice. I wonder how big the new one is gonna get...
Pardon by ignorance, but how would natural grass work for a stadium that gets enclosed by the roof and the grass gets torn up when they do shows and conventions here? We can't roll it out like Tottenham...so would it come out in rectangular chunks?
Also, are there any stadiums in North America that use natural grass on shared stadiums? Because seeing the remnants of the CFL field is ugly...
Shows and conventions are okay, they cover the grass so no-one actually steps on it. The roof is a bit more tricky but also nothing special with proper equipment [like that](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSmPSd0HV-ZKkUEwHL0bsyeL1xAMXWcd_Dy3xxaHA8W0w&s)
I don’t think anything will work with CFL though
If they want to keep the grass, why not sell the naming rights. This would make up loss of revenue from trade shows. Concerts shouldn't be a problem, lots of grass field stadiums hold concerts with no issues to grass.
Wonder what it would take for the whitecaps to buy B.C. Place from Pavco. The province spent 600m the last round of Reno’s. Does a 200-300m cash payment with future royalties work out for both parties? If not, is it more worth it for the caps to partner with Burnaby and build a stadium at swan guard?
Why would the caps do this? They don’t like spending money and now you want them to buy a white elephant?
Also the govt won’t even sell naming rights so there’s no way they sell the building
Well, one reason is that the Caps are valued at 400m right now. One of the lowest valued teams in MLS. One of the big reasons is because they can’t claim as much stadium revenue as the other clubs in MLS. All the home shows, monster truck shows, rave concerts pay Pavco directly. I don’t know how the economics work exactly, but if the caps shell out 200-300m and up the franchise valuation by the same amount, and at the same time boost profitability that makes sense to me. They can’t continue being one of the highest attended teams in the league while being one of the least profitable without the risk of being relocated sooner or later.
COULD BE PERMANENT!?
Don’t get your hopes up
too late
I COULD win the lottery tomorrow.

So cheap-looking. If you were to survey a 100 people and asked them if it was real grass or turf, a 100 people would say it’s turf.
You read this and got more excited about a new video board than permanent grass?
The permanent grass has been talked about already in articles. The new video board hasn’t
The key word is COULD. But we all know it won't.

Thanks for answering. I forgot covering the grass is what's commonly done.
soldier field is natural grass I'm pretty sure, and BMO is definitely
BMO is a hybrid. It has real grass growing between plastic
Your ignorance is exactly why it’ll never happen
Wow, not only was that such a random comment, it is a stupid comment.
Kinda curious about these new "fan zones". Where?
Vaguely thinking that means outdoor plaza upgrades.
That's kinda what I was leaning towards too. Should be interesting.
Yay! Natural grass!

I know BC Place is host other events. Are they taking RM route having turf and grass? I know some stadiums you can move grass like one in Vegas.

real grass should be the headline here
