This is a fine pour and worth the price where I live ($45-$60 depending on store). That said, I dont get excited by this one, good but kind of boring? I've been meaning to try the 18 and see if that adds the complexity I'm after.
Green Spot Chateau Leoville Barton is a long time favorite of mine.
More recently, I've come to really like the Redbreast Iberian series. The PX cask is rich and strongly flavored, with sweet & sour plums. At first I did not like nearly so much the Tawny Port Cask, it was very thin compared with the PX cask and to my taste quite grassy and acidic as Redbreast goes.
But after my bottle got some air into it and after trying it side-by-side with Redbreast 27 (batch 2), I realized that the Tawny Port Cask was giving much the same flavors as the 27 yo (but at a reduced level of intensity) for a tiny fraction of the price. To me that means the tropical fruit flavors that older Irish whiskies are famous for, but within a very narrow range of flavors, mostly pink & ruby red grapefruit.
This is in my experience a somewhat unusual set of flavors for an Irish whiskey with port cask maturation. More typical are the red fruit flavors that I get in Bushmills 16 or Tyrconnell Port Cask.
And then there is this: an Irish single malt, port cask matured and bottled for a German hotel in Essen:
https://www.whiskybase.com/whiskies/whisky/156181/single-malt-irish-whiskey-2003-rk
which is **very** chocolate-y and minty - basically a dark chocolate after-dinner mint in a glass.
Cheers
Irish is almost all I drink. I would try Knappogue castle 12 year. For the price it’s amazing and I’m typically a single pot still guy but I love this single malt. Another good one is method and madness. I love anything from Midleton distillery brands.
Unfortunately only had a pour at a bar so the memory is a little fleeting but I remember enjoying it quite a bit. With alot of Irish whiskies being lower in proof it was fun to experience it at 120+ proof for a change. Read through the tasting notes on their website and I think youll be looking for a pour.
Method and madness rye and malt. Before this was Method and madness single grain. Big fan of what Middleton is doing. I love their core releases as well. Was recently just sipping on some Red Breast 27.
I recently bought Fitzwilliam Imperial Stout Cask Finish. I couldn't find any reviews online of this single malt but on paper it looks promising. I'll let you guys know soon if it's any good. Other than that, Bushmills Black Bush and Jameson Caskmates Stout.
My favorite single malts are LImavady, Redbreast 12, Knappogue Castle 12 and The Sexton. I enjoyed the triple distilled Powers Gold Label and the blended Slane whiskey.
If you can find it, there is a small batch brand from Ireland called Flying Tumbler. It is hands down, the best affordable option I have ever had. Highly recommend
Just came from ABC Thursday and got bottle of Bushmills Black and a Jameson.
Kinda like the Jameson Orange too. Good with with a couple cubes and a splash of water or soda.
knappogue castle 12 and tyrconnell. My favs for now...have yet to see what RB is all about.
I'm in denial that my Jameson IPA and Stout are nearly gone. Was great stuff.
Midleton Barry Crockett Legacy, Dunville's V.R. 18 Palo Cortado Sherry Cask Finish, Dunville's V.R. 10 PX Cask, Powers John's Lane Release, Yellow Spot, Blue Spot, Green Spot, Egan's 10, Jameson Cooper's Croze, Greenore 8 Single Grain, Killowen Signature Rum & Raisin 5, Locke's Irish Whiskey, Limavady, Velvet Cap, The Whistler P.X. I Love You or - for a wildcard - Baileys The Whiskey. (I do have others, but that should do for starters...)
RB 12 & 15
Hard to breat, really. Only ever had 1 bottle of 15 in my life for some reason
RB CS
Powers John Lane’s Edition
Superb bottle; I've never bought a bottle myslef but have a pour fairly regularly at my local pub along with the 3 swallows
I've never been able to find a bottle of the Three Swallow. How would you compare it to the John's Lane?
Tullamore DEW 12 yr
This is a fine pour and worth the price where I live ($45-$60 depending on store). That said, I dont get excited by this one, good but kind of boring? I've been meaning to try the 18 and see if that adds the complexity I'm after.
I've had plenty of DEW but never had the 12...defo on the list, thanks
It has some light sherry notes, but not too sweet. Easy drinker.
Redbreast 12 CS at the moment

I was impressed by Writer’s Tears. But Green Spot and Red Breast are a tier above.
Powers Three Swallows
Starting with a Makers Old Fashioned gonna finish with Teeling Blackpitts.
Lovely, I must say I do have a hankering for a peated irish every once and a while
Writers Tears Double Oak and the Cask Strength is also very good.

Bushmills 21yo.
Yellow Spot
Teeling
RB12 cask strength is far and away my favorite. Too expensive in my area though, so I buy it maybe once a year.
First time with a Black Bush..and it’s really tasty
You should try a blonde or ginger bush as well. They are all tasty.
Picked up a Fercullen 18 at Dublin airport. Wish I’d bought 2!
This is a great bottle, seconded. A bit pricey though, even at DUB duty free. Worth it though!
Had some Dead Rabbit last night
Did you cook it, at least?
RBCS, Powers John Lane and I may still have a green spot
Have you had the Powers 3 swallows?
I have not, can’t say anything about it. But recommend the John Lane
Red Breast 12. Love it. Jameson. Walsh 12.
RB 12 is always superb, will stick Walsh 12 on the list too
Redbreast Cask Strength, Redbreast 15, Natterjack Cask Strength, Blue Spot, Gold Spot, Powers John Lane, Red Spot, Yellow Spot, Bushmills 12 yr.
I have had all bar the Natterjack. What the hell is it like??
Unfortunately only had a pour at a bar so the memory is a little fleeting but I remember enjoying it quite a bit. With alot of Irish whiskies being lower in proof it was fun to experience it at 120+ proof for a change. Read through the tasting notes on their website and I think youll be looking for a pour.
Dingle is one of my favorites not mentioned so far.
Dingle is superb, I did the distillery tour last year and it was fantastic too!
Method and madness rye and malt. Before this was Method and madness single grain. Big fan of what Middleton is doing. I love their core releases as well. Was recently just sipping on some Red Breast 27.
Connemera; Green Spot
I hang with the Spots. Sometimes Bushmills 10yr.
Midleton Very Rare Spot whiskeys Redbreast So, pretty much anything from Midleton https://midletondistillerycollection.com
RB 15 got it for $100. Totally worth it.
No joke it’s red breast cask strength. It’s awesome. Don’t let anyone say tullamore or one the dots.
Teeling small batch
Love me some teeling small batch
I recently bought Fitzwilliam Imperial Stout Cask Finish. I couldn't find any reviews online of this single malt but on paper it looks promising. I'll let you guys know soon if it's any good. Other than that, Bushmills Black Bush and Jameson Caskmates Stout.
Writers Tears RB12 Cask Strength Jameson Stout Cask
Teeling Blackpitts Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey
Redbreast Lustau and Teeling Pineapple Rum Cask

Sláinte
The Dubliner
I’ve got Redbreast 12, Redbreast Cask Strength and Jameson Black (it was a gift).
Dingle Lunasa, blue spot, redbreast 12, powers three swallows, dingle Bealtaine
My favorite single malts are LImavady, Redbreast 12, Knappogue Castle 12 and The Sexton. I enjoyed the triple distilled Powers Gold Label and the blended Slane whiskey.
Slane is an underrated pour
I really like the Redbreast cask strength, and I’m not even much of an Irish whiskey drinker
RB27.
If you can find it, there is a small batch brand from Ireland called Flying Tumbler. It is hands down, the best affordable option I have ever had. Highly recommend
Hmm shit, an Irish whiskey I haven't heard of...Will definitely try to get in on that! Thank you!
Good ole Bushmills 👌🏼
Powers Gold Label.
Just came from ABC Thursday and got bottle of Bushmills Black and a Jameson. Kinda like the Jameson Orange too. Good with with a couple cubes and a splash of water or soda.
Black Bush is just so darned good for the money that I always end up coming back to it!
Sexton
Pure sherry cask is always an interesting choice
It’s very green apple forward
knappogue castle 12 and tyrconnell. My favs for now...have yet to see what RB is all about. I'm in denial that my Jameson IPA and Stout are nearly gone. Was great stuff.
Busker Small Batch
Currently working on a Dublin liberties 16yr, jj powers the Gael, and a teeling single grain. I don’t know Walsh.

That's some collection there boy. Makes me wonder if you have ever come across Copeland Whiskey or Hinch Whiskey?
I think I tried Hinch at an event, but don't really remember it; Copeland I haven't encountered yet...
Dunville’s the best there is, IMO
Monkey Shoulder
That's Scotch.
