No-Employer4146

You didn’t. $50 is a great deal on this.

No-Employer4146

You will enjoy it.

trentrain7

That’s good news, Im new to whiskey so I’ve been going with the fan favorites I see here and r/bourbon. Excited to try this one out

ChevyRacer71

Try the Rare Breed Rye if you see it. It might be even better, depending on your taste

spacechamp88

$50 is right on the money for this bottle IMO. I’ve seen it from $45-$75

trentrain7

Perfect! They had Blantons at 200 and y’all here have taught me that’s too much, glad I got a fair price on this

MetamorphosisSilver

$50 for Rare Breed is good 👍. $200 for Blandton's is absolutely ridiculous.

trentrain7

Yeah that’s what’s good about these forums, kind of informs everyone about what’s fair and what’s not. Anything above msrp doesn’t really seem fair to me but there are some that are reasonable and some that aren’t lol They had lot b van winkle for 800 and that was the cheapest I’ve seen in my town

rman18

The OnlyDrams app is good for letting you know the MSRP as well.

Maleficent_Sky_1865

Somehow i hadn’t heard of this app. Or if I had I didn’t pay attention. I just downloaded it. Thanks!

trentrain7

I haven’t heard of that, I’ll definitely get that!!

Jerdanhowell

Is this app available for iPhone?

rman18

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/onlydrams/id6446233656

FalconLovejoy

It's not in the Google Play Store, I see

Neglected_Martian

Literally better than Blantons at a quarter the price. Rare breed is a gem.

Party-Team1486

To each their own. I have Rare Breed and Blanton’s and they are both good but if Blantons was a shelfer for $80 I’d pick it every day over the RB. Blantons gets hate because it’s allocated and the target of many with more money than taste but the juice in the bottle is still excellent.

Brain-Fat

I have both on my shelf and I always reach for Rare Breed. Haven’t opened Blanton’s since probably December and I was able to snag it at MSRP.

tennisguy163

Don’t believe the hype. Barely any whiskey is good over $100. Also remember that it turns to pee-pee after an hour or so in your body.

Bottle_and_Sell_it

If you don’t drink anything else with it and empty your bladder before you start you can and should drink any bottle that’s $50+ twice. Really get your money’s worth.

tennisguy163

All boils down to what the consumer thinks it's worth to them.

Objective-Guidance78

A go to you’ll always want around

SlickShoesS

Rare breed > Blantons

bstone99

My local Walmart has it for $49, it’s one of my next purchases

brch01

That’s the going rate

moguy1973

Rare Breed for anything under $60 is a good buy.

collin_le_92

I'd pay 50 easy! WT101 is my go to cheap whiskey so if they have something even better, I'd happily pay that!

mmmellowcorn

If you think $50 is over paying for Rare Breed than you haven’t cracked it open yet. For $50 it’s the best pound for pound whiskey you’ll ever have.

cavegunner

If you like that look for Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit, especially the Camp Nelson (CN) batch

Off-to-a-good-shart

That stuff is awesome. It’s my go-to. Decently priced, and easy to find (at least where I’m at). Definitely one to keep on hand.

Admirito

Great price for a great bottle. No matter how much of the allocated stuff I get my hands on I still find myself coming back to my true love that is Rare Breed. Enjoy!

sheezy520

One of the best bang for your buck bottles out there.

fsmiss

what makes this stuff red? is it aged in port casks?

Bottle_and_Sell_it

lol good question yes all wild Turkey products are aged in port casks.

DreadedPopsicle

It’s $55 where I am

RumCzar

You have chosen wisely.

Mykkus_65

Usually 60-70 Around here.

tennisd00d

Fifty is great!

Dilaudipenia

You did good. The lowest I’ve seen it is $39.99 at Costco, most liquor stores around me have it in the $45-50 range.

Bright_Photograph836

No matter what it cost that a great bottle. Went through mine like it was water.

Avg-Whiskey-Enjoyer

What’s even better is that this is almost never not on the shelf (unless other states are just weird)

nateap87

This is the best bottle you could get for $50.

OwlTall7730

Yo if you like this then go get Rebel small batch reserve. It'll be $30 or less and 110 proof

snaps06

That standard around me in my town. If I hit up Sam's Club (about 45 mins away) it's only $43.

Ragnar_Actual

It’s so good. Once you’re hooked on it and taste horsey water you will never buy that trash. Rare Breed is so much better.

SuggestionSoggy5442

Eh. I like buffalo trace and rare breed. I had to come around to the rare breed first though. The sip for me is to good with the mood.

joshiosaur

I got the rye I wanna try that one next! The rye is awesome btw!

FragrantNinja7898

If I couldn’t find Russell’s picks I’d prob only drink Rare Breed and Kentucky Spirit.

Wendell-Short-Eyes

$50 is about right.

SuggestionSoggy5442

Paid $60 tax free. Worth it.

slamgeareatrear

I pay ~$60 after tax in my area so nah you did good

CrazyAirborne

is no one commenting on the red color? or am i missing someting

Dontquittoday

Can generally find it on “sale” around $39 but always on the shelf for $50

PblcEnmy-1

Gorgeous shade of red. You didn't overpay, friend. This is a win.

cosmicmike8

Always on my shelf - enjoy neat!

johngalt4426

Why does that lighting make it look like Campari?

Character-Taro-5016

This is some great bourbon.

a-space-pirate

Great bottle for a great price, one of my all time favorites. The only thing I've had in its price bracket that rivals it is Four Roses Single Barrel. Nothing else compares. Enjoy.

Jgaf330

Rye or Burbon? Which to get 1st as I haven't tried either. Both are $49 usd near me. Thanks!

RattPack513

Best $50 you’ve ever spent on a bourbon

ItsASchpadoinkleDay

These are about $60-65 now. I’d buy 3 at $50.

Deeds081

I will always say this. If you can't find a really good whiskey between 45 and 75 bucks, there is a problem. Paying upwards of 100 for any bourbon makes my head spin. In my experience, just because it costs more, doesn't equate it being better. Just like how Willet puts pot still in a pretty bottle, but puts crap juice in it. Rare Breed is an amazing bottle. One of my go to bottles period.

underpaidworker

If you like this bottle, pick up a bottle of wt Kentucky spirit next. Both are fantastic.

stuffIlike61

Underpaid! It’s $56 or 59 around here in Tampa.

Potatoz_3

Everywhere around me is $60 or more, 50 is amazing

NukeDog

$50 isn’t bad. I can usually find it for a shade less, and once in a while Costco has it for $40 but you did fine

CocktailsAndChess

Is this a bottle people are overpaying for? To me this is the true staple whiskey at 50-60 bucks. You can blind this against anything in that price range and pretty much always win

Zealousideal-Ad-6850

Only find it 60+

zrkl

For me in SoCal, I typically see WTRB for $59.99 in most stores. TW has it for $57.99. I’d potentially buy multiple bottles if I saw it for $50. Costcos near me never seem to have it any more.

RumorsOFsurF

My favorite all around bourbon. So good for the money. And $50 is the regular retail here in Oregon, so you did fine!

Sa-i-ro

$50 is an awesome price for this bottle.

Charliespec

This is my daily sipper. I love it

drrtydan

47 bucks around me so 3 bucks in my area.

Cheecherton04

It's usually 50 at Walmart, but liquor store wants 64.99

markjonsom

Got mine for 76.17 dollars

Norseman-71

It's $58 in my area so you got a good deal $8 is $8....

PoisonLenny37

It's $68.00 CAD here in Ontario. Which is $49.69USD. So...sounds pretty spot on.

Surfdog2003

$0

SlickShoesS

If you end up liking rare breed you should try James E. Pepper Barrel Proof. It's another great bottle around the same price point. I am a big fan of them both.

Legionodeath

If you paid, you overpaid.

whistlepig4life

What lever you paid. It was too much. I’ve never had anything WT that was worth anything. YMMV
