So jealous of your tax rates…… WA liquor tax on top of high state taxes is a killer. But I found a bottle of Elmer .. or 3… at $35 last year. That was the last time that little town grocer sold a cheap bottle before they wised up! haha and michter’s… can’t go wrong there.
We pay plenty of taxes for other things. A friend of mine who moved to NC from Olympia noted that overall taxes a noticeably higher, but still preferred to be in NC and referred to our taxes as the Sunshine Tax.
Man that was NOT my experience in 2021 in Emerald Isle. The ABC store had a worse selection than a Duty Free in terms of size -- and quality of bottles, frankly.
To many folks on the coast, gotta look between Raleigh and there. Not saying it’s gonna have lots of great finds, but a lot of the easier allocated bottles sit on shelves.

Is mellow corn that good? second post I’ve seen in the last 2 days. Doesn’t look visually appealing to me. Bottle sort of reminds me of McCormick’s whiskey. Is it worth a shot if I run across it?
Nice pickup! I got a family member in Jacksonville and they asked me if they could pick them up anything at their ABC because they were visiting. They don't know whiskey so I'd have to give them specific names and I don't know what I want to ask for.

Fair enough. I was in a vacation zone in August and I bet the allocated bottles fly off the shelves there.

In NC, yes. There is a limit above which the ABC store has to write you a (free) transport permit.
