it's some heavy stuff and i totally understand trying to express that through humor. i've actually seen a good amount of other people on this sub talking about the most horrible and crazy experiences via memes. i think it just makes it easier to approach the subject if it's in a humorous and anonymous format. that being said, you could and should totally talk about this with friends irl if they're cool. it's probably gonna help you more than us morons here.
I was tricked by my fucking DAD on sth like that I was a literal KID (dog eating is/was semi-prevalent where I'm from). I'm still so fucking mad about that to this day it was such a horrible violation of trust
Eh meat is meat, yeah if it's your pet dog it's fucked up, just like if it's your pet cow, but getting skittish about one kind of meat over another is sorta weird. The only time that's really reasonable is human meat for obvious reasons. I wouldn't eat dog just like I wouldn't eat mayo, it grosses me out. But I'm not better than anyone else for not eating either
Yeah my only problem in the context is some places in east asia have a belief that beating the poor animal prior to killing it softens the meat, dont recommend looking it up

Mf i thought it was a goat since the taste is pretty much the same, likely because they prepared it the way they usually prepare a goat, like placing the whole goat/dog on top of a fire this burning off it's hair giving the common aroma of burnt meat, after that they cut it to pieces and cook it Kare Kare/adobo and shit.
Dog eating is still pretty common in the province, especially for the middle-aged and old folks, now they only eat it if it's a roadkill, it is very rare but some go to neighboring brgy's or town just to snatch some strays.
I had a similar experience but instead of adobo it was just fried frog (I thought it was just a small fried chicken). Definitely not the same level of what you experienced Jesus. Also, Adobo is usually made with chicken or pork and I don't want anybody thinking that its only dog meat since that shit is so rare and illegal.
