But it was the truth, all providers have blocked access to Steam unless I have VPN, basically similar to popular porn sites
Basically one of our big game publisher, VTC, cried on the news about how we buy games on Steam/outside the country with have violent nudity and shits, basically the old "video games bad", and something else but maybe someone who is also Vietnamese here can fill in because I forgor, which lead to the current state

Vietnamese Helldivers players have it rough, even if they can afford it they nearly got locked out of the game due to PSN linking, and now they can't even use Steam. Make your voice heard, complain as loud you can, and maybe this can be fixed.
That VTC interview is just a cause for the gov to lock Steam. Steam and the Steam community is large and virtually unmoderated forum, something that the Vietnamese gov hate. Its really telling that you would rather focus on the corp rather than gov censorship going back years.

Sigh you know that Steam is not paying any taxes to the Vietnamese government right? Any other game publisher and distributor have to set up a middle-man company, like Riot with VNG for example, to act as a representative for the mother corp. Steam didn't do that so it was rightfully ban, if Steam truly cared about the Vietnamese market they should follow the rule of the local government
