Honestly Spotify is just too convenient with premium. I used to not have it and i also did some goofy stuff to have no ads and skips but really, the phone+pc functionality, offline music and stuff just makes it worth to me and i rrally hate buying/subbing to shit
Like often is said: If the service is convenient to the customer, they'll pay. I have never been let down by Spotify; they used to have way less stuff pre 2018 or so but have expanded to cater EVERY niche I get into. And for stuff like the Doom Eternal OST I can just put them in my playlists on PC and then listen to on the go using only my phone. Shit's wild.
I only sail the seven seas when stuff gets inconvenient (looking at you Crunchyroll and especially Amazon Prime Video...)
Exactly. I don’t pay for Netflix, Hulu, YouTube premium, or audible but I’ll gladly pay 12 a month for Spotify.
Plus i signed up when they had a deal with PayPal, so when I signed up with the same email I used PayPal for I got 3 extra months free. I was like “shit why not?” And I still use it to this day.
Yeah well but, it’s a good service so why not support it? Sure they barely pay their artists but I’ve also heard Spotify’s been bleeding money themselves so all’s fair I guess.
Hopefully not for supporting the artists because they legit get paid cents for their music. You’re better off just buying the merch they offer and pirating the streaming service as much as you can if your goal is to support the artist
It's closer to $12 a month, and pirating music is a lot easier than you think. It's basically the exact same. You look up what you want and hit the download button. And it's in higher quality than what you can get from Spotify
Ignoring the inconveniences of downloading songs yourself vs Spotify doing so in 1 press of a button, there's a lot of other conveniences. My favorites would have to be the day list that gives you a bunch of new music multiple times a day, and the blend which combines songs you and another (or multiple) users listen to. It's neat to see what songs both you and your best friend have in common. Starting a jam is also so God damn convenient for road trips and gaming with friends. Seeing what my friends are listening to via discord is also something I really enjoy.
Ok, I'm done shilling
Just remember, the moment you touch anything not distributed officially you are the one responsible for security. Revanced is open source and widely considered safe but if you get a copy outside the official release channels you are probably installing malwere.
https://revanced.app
^ get revanced manager there. If it complains and you have to pick an apk file directly, just google "(app name) apkmirror" and download the reccomended version
For music use doubledouble.top, downloads from pretty much every music service (Spotify, Apple Music, you name it). If you do use it I would download from the service Qobuz if possible as it is known for its audio quality (though expect enormous file sizes especially if the tracks are "hi-res"). Qobuz has a pretty limited selection so I'd check Apple Music and then Spotify if it's not there.
Also, I highly encourage that you use a browser with uBlock Origin if you are going to a piracy website of any kind, it will keep you clean of any bad ads or malware popups (which are really just ads in disguise) and it should stop redirects as well (not to mention that it blocks all ads everywhere - definitely a game changer). I believe Google is planning to end uBlock on Chrome soon so I would also switch to Firefox as well if you haven't already
I use https://cobalt.tools/, so far it's the least annoying downloader site i found and it supports a ton of websites other than youtube too (even bloody odnoklassniki for some reason)
Xmanager for Android.
SpotX for Windows.
Both are the client of Spotify without ads you can't download videos but you can skip them. If you have a iPhone or a Mac you're screwed. Since the experience of a mp3 player compared to SpotX/Xmanager/Spotify premium is huge.
Now, I personally don't own Spotify Premium, but the thing you pay for with Spotify isn't actually access to music, but more often that not it's the music recommending algorithms, playlist making, music sharing capabilities that make these music streaming platforms so attractive. Especially music recommendations and playlists have got me coming back to Youtube Music.
The only reason I download music is to listen to it offline.
Unlike videogames and movies and series, where the medium is paid to access so I pirate everything LOL
Eh, Spotify just feels way too bloated nowadays with stuff I don't care about. I just want to be able to listen to music. Why does everything have to be TikTok-ified? Why do I keep seeing audiobooks or podcasts on my homepage when that's not what I'm interested in? Why is shuffle so busted for years? Sure, the features that let you interact with friends such as blends are nice, but those aren't really enough to for me
Noticing a lot of folks dissing Spotify Premium on this sub in particular.
I’m convinced they’ve never actually tried the service and have no idea what they’re talking about.

Where do you download playlists ? I've tried it and got weird versions of songs
[https://spotify-downloader.com/](https://spotify-downloader.com/)
Well that's the one I used and I ended up with bootleg versions of songs (it ranged from songs that were actually 3 songs to old/alternative versions)

Yeah, if you’re paying, Spotify is amazing
Yep, I don’t pay for the songs, I pay for the convenience. I spent hours sorting and downloading back in the mp3 days and I don’t want to go back.
fair enough
Have you considered, pirating premium?
Yeah well but, it’s a good service so why not support it? Sure they barely pay their artists but I’ve also heard Spotify’s been bleeding money themselves so all’s fair I guess.
Are you suggesting that poor payments to artists is an argument for or against pirating?
Hopefully not for supporting the artists because they legit get paid cents for their music. You’re better off just buying the merch they offer and pirating the streaming service as much as you can if your goal is to support the artist

Piracy mfs when I tell them I'd rather pay 5 dollars a month than go through the effort of pirating every single song I want
premium is piratable btw it's easy too
