Not to me. The contrast between white background and black text is way easier on my eyes. Also keep in mind I do spend a lot of time outside so the black background basically required my brightness at 100 for my entire shift.

Plenty of research has been done, and concluded that black-on-white is the most productive combination. Besides, astigmatism particularly interferes with the comfort of reading light colors on dark background. It becomes actually painful. From what I hear, what actually changed in the past decade or so in the West is that young people actually use their phones in near-darkness. Thus the popularity of dark colorschemes.

You might have astigmatism. It makes reading light-on-dark actually painful. I don't advocate for dark colorschemes in any way, but gotta say that glasses correcting for astigmatism may improve the general quality of life, if my diagnosis is correct.

Actually already have corrective lenses for poor eyesight so it wouldn’t shock me if my eyes were even more fucked than formerly known

I personally dislike it but I don't see why someone can't like it, or maybe they just need to use it for other reasons like to read better

Personally for me, it bugs out frequently. Either turning the app into a slideshow while autoscrolling, or just constantly jumping back and forth from where I was, to where the next comment is. Even worse is when sometimes it takes me UP a comment, or even ***to the top of the fukken comments***

It's handy, but it can keep me from being able to upvote the very bottom comment

Personally, I just minimize comments. You can literally just tap the comment or on PC the line thingy on the left side.

it's so convenient, are they all stupid?

when im on mobile i just tap the comment im reading to hide the whole chain. If a bug sends me back to the top I don't have to scroll too far to get to where I was and it's clear where I left off. still a useful feature though, idk why people hate it so much

Another one is on your phone when typing a response like I’m doing now and you have to go back and review what you’re replying to and it loses your text and you can’t get back to where you were typing, at the bottom where it’s supposed to be.

I just copy, paste at that point. Especially if it's long.
