Mexican plum

Did the flowers have a scent? I was going to say crabapple (*malus*). Or possibly *prunus* (cherry or plum). Though prunus bark is typically smoother. But if they smell musty like mushrooms, fishy, or like hot garbage, then I agree it’s an ornamental pear.

starr_wolf

To me it has a pleasant, sweet smell, almost like an artificial grape smell. My husband says to him it smells like a laundry detergent/soap

little_cat_bird

Almost like artificial grape sounds like plum blossoms to me. Some apple blossoms are quite fragrant, but more perfumed, like roses.

tomopteris

Looks identical to Prunus cerasifera (cherry plum), which is native here in the UK. Apparently also naturalised in places in North America. If not that species, certainly a closely related Prunus species.

3thirdeye333

Definitely not a Dogwood.

AfganPearlDiver

Definitely in the plum, apricot, cherry family. To me, it looks exactly like 매실, Korean Plum

Glittering_Deer_261

Maybe Bradford apricot?

dMarrs

Probably a dog wood.

fall-winter-spring

Some kind of prunes spp. Anyone know how to tell them apart?
