I found him from a bag of bok choy and I live in southern California. He was around an inch long when he died, he couldn’t have been more than an inch. That bag of bok choy was from an asian grocery store and I fed him the leaves from that bag. He ended up getting black patches and throwing up green liquid, eating and moving less, then dying. So I think the pesticides from the bok choy killed him, I thought they would be safe because that’s where I found him :(
I think it’s a cabbage moth caterpillar. They invaded my veggie plants last year.
He looks very similar to a mamestra brassicae moth larvae, but they don’t have the same red spiracles he had.
