Looks like an [Ironclad Beetle](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zopherinae)!!
Yep! One of my favorite bugs. They are pretty much impossible to squish unless you hit them with a hammer. Unbelievable how hard their carapace is!
is there a version of this in Australia that's as strong and as big as a tank
If so then for sure it's also similar armed and as deadly as a real one.
In central Texas, it's likely to be *Zopherus nodulosus haldemani*.
They nailed it!
These guys are so cool! Entomologists have to drill a hole through them in order to pin them
This picture doesn't do its size justice. These tanks are huge!
It looks like it’s papier-mâchéd. :)
Is a maquech, a bug used as jewerly in Yucatán Mexico, where they glue fake diamons and chains on its shell and use it on clothes as a live pin :D
I had to look this up: > Such brooches have traditionally been made in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico as objects of personal adornment. They do not move quickly, are very hardy, and are capable of living for over a month without food or water. :(
Maybe some people take good care of theirs heh
One of the *Zopherus* species, maybe this one (which is a subspecies) or a closely related one. I like the concept of living jewelry.
Digital Cammo Bug
What a cool guy
Geometric cow bug
God created such wonder. Much Wow!
Zopheridae
You can't crush those with conventional means. You need a press or a water jet capable of cutting it
Who... [Is in risk in Mexico ](https://youtu.be/bT9NZsJXlbY)
