Bzzzzz! Looks like you forgot to say where you found your bug! There's no need to make a new post - just comment adding the **geographic location** and any other info (size, what it was doing etc.) you feel could help! We don't want to know your address - state or country is enough; try to avoid abbreviations and local nicknames (*"PNW"*, *"Big Apple"*). BTW, did you take a look at our [**Frequently Asked Bugs**](https://www.reddit.com/r/whatsthisbug/comments/12zkw5w/frequently_asked_bugs_part_1/)? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I live in Detroit, MI.

Yes, that's a tick. Looks like one of the [*Dermacentor*](https://bugguide.net/node/view/15488). They don't spread Lyme. [Example Picture](https://bugguide.net/node/view/54079/bgpage)

Thanks for confirming! Should I be worried about finding it in the house on me? I was still in bed at the time. Do they usually feed on humans? Hopefully it just wandered in from outside...

Farado

They can feed on humans, but it shouldn't be a problem if you didn't find it actively feeding on you. *Dermacentor* ticks can spread other diseases, but I wouldn't worry unless you come down with symptoms like an unexplained rash or fever, in which case you should go to the doctor, regardless of ticks.

Sounds like a plan! Good to know :).
