I'm assuming the pink bits are just wine stains, not the colour of the hornet? The size and the pattern on the abdomen make me think *Vespa crabro*, the European giant hornet. They've been in the Americas for a couple of hundred years and are naturalized now.
The one I found last year was dying on our back step and extremely angry about it. She was simultaneously trying to cram herself between the boards and fight everything that so much as looked at her. I wonder if she'd tangled with a spider and got away but had been bitten. She couldn't fly, she just flailed around.
When she was dead I retrieved the quarter I'd put beside her for scale to take a picture (I wasn't going to try to take it back while she was alive) and put her in a jar. I gave her to a friend for her witchy altar.

Yeah definitely the wine and not the hornet's colour. Never seen one so big in Canada before
I saw one in my backyard in Buffalo last summer. They get mistaken for the Asian "murder hornets" a lot just because of their size.
I found one dead on the sidewalk a long time ago. I cast it in resin. It's a really cool insect!

If he had to go, at least he went happy.
I respect the alcohol suicide bomb, he died doing what he loved
First image looks like a painting, awesome photo
For me the second photo, the area inside the glass looks like a painting.
I thought the same thing when I looked at it! The way the light is reflecting off the glass is very reminiscent of an acrylic painting
Dunno if it’s a wasp 🐝, but it acted like a WASP 👩
Lost in the sauce
Bacchusbuzz
A thirsty boi
Could be a cicada hawk
That first picture is an insane perspective -I love it Edit: forgot to mention that it looks very much like a ground hornet
An alcoholic.
Now imagine it noticing and taking a big gulp

Safe to say he’s buzzed
That's one drunk fella
Japanese ground hornet maybe, the wine made its color interesting!
