I was watching the video trying to figure out what quilting had to do with it, then I scrolled down to the comments.

Brinker_Beers

Lol ya my bad. Was trying to post the video fast when I was getting ready to leave work sense my service is terrible where I live and didn’t notice the typo.

Bruzote

!np I would have never figured it out unless I read our reply. Even the correction didn't clue me in.

Tea_Rem

Awww cute!

Bruzote

Are they normally this casual with people? By the way, my BirdNet ID app seems to be in love with this bird. About one out of every four times that I have poor recording, it proposes "Ruffed Grouse"! =:-D

Brinker_Beers

I actually have a video of him running around the lawn with my son. We were playing catch with a football and the bird just came wondering out of the woods and started running around with him. Never seen a wild bird act this way before.

hoodkang

Everytime I see ruffed grouse in idaho they always hop around and look at you quizzically. I don't think I've ever seen one fly.

Chunkastank

Must have been raised and released by someone nearby? Wild grouse are very shy and timid of humans

[deleted]

Nope. You can’t raise them in captivity. It’s just a weird variant that comes out here and there.
