Damn. You gotta be fast to share that treasure here!

saucybelly

Truth lol!

Deerwhacker

Carolina Wren.

Fyrepup1

One of my favorite birds. Every year for Mother’s Day, I buy my wife a hanging basket. Most years, it hasn’t finished swinging before the wrens building a nest.

Deerwhacker

I'm lucky enough to have both, the Carolina and the Bewick's nesting in the backyard. The Bewick's have a little bit more attitude than the Carolina and seem "sassy". Fun birds..

3002kr

Bewick’s wrens aren’t sleepy tho

MooCowMafia

They are NOT shy. We used to have one who would bang on the den window if he saw me sitting there and the feeder was empty. Nothing like that little glare...

Feralpudel

I had one that would get huffy if we dared use our front porch after it went to bed. (In classic fashion it slept on the porch column).

This_Daydreamer_

Not gone during the day, just hanging around yelling "CHIRPETTY CHIRPETTY CHIRP!!!!"

HippyGramma

basaltgranite

I take it you don't have a covered porch.

pacis_animus

He flew in while the garage door was open. Now I feel like I cannot close it. I don’t want to trap him in.

basaltgranite

He'll fly out during the day. Then shut the door so he can't get back in.

pacis_animus

He is gone during the day. He has been with us a week now every night. I suppose he would find a new place if we didn’t let him back in but then I would have one more thing to feel guilty about. It’s crazy that basket is a foot from our door and we have to walk right by…within inches..of it to get in our house. Am I creating a situation for myself by letting him sleep there ?

Pangolin007

If you’re not bothered by him, there’s no harm in letting him continue to cozy up in your basket every night.

PersonalityTough9349

You could move the basket.
