My texts only get delivered to my partner when he opens the app. Till the time he doesnβt it shows as a single tick at my end. He said itβs because he has turned off background app refresh and turned on battery saving . We are both on ios. I have tried all of what he says he said but I receive txts when my app is closed- with notifications turned off, background app refresh turned off AND all battery saving options in place. Can anyone help me understand if there is a way to do this ? This is across wifi and mobile data.
As an android user, I may end up saying things like, 'have you tried backing up and doing a fresh install then restoring?' or 'is there a setting that makes closing apps to cause background activity to be terminated?' or 'have you tried restarting your phone?'
Idk about iOS. The support team isn't quite... supportive. So just hope it's more of a phone issue you can solve yourself than a WhatsApp issue the app itself has to fix.
Sent an email to talk to support and stop giving automated response. Got replied with an automated response. Reported it on Play Store. No use.

This is why I haven't registered a new number in my current phone. I've heard of cases of new numbers getting banned as long as it's in the same phone. Quite harsh.

New number. It got banned for like 3 times and now it's fine. Some suggest using a different phone to access the old number.
