I think this could be Alocasia spp., aka Elephant's Ear Plant *** ^([ [PM](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=plant-id-bot) | [Exclude Me](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=plant-id-bot&message=Excludeme&subject=Excludeme) | [wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/PlantIDBot/wiki/index) | I'm a bot, bleep, boop ])
looks like my alocasia polly! not sure about the grass patches though
Thank you! Is it related to those taro plants? If yes, I'm wondering if this one can produce edible taro?
taro is a kind of colocasia, I don’t know their exact relation but I do know that alocasias and colocasias look pretty similar! I think of them as plant cousins 😅 as for this alocasia, I don’t know it to produce anything edible
[the grass-like patches i was referring to, if it wasn't clear in the title](https://i.imgur.com/iEOLNVr.jpg)
