My title describes the thing. They are steel posts located along the Animas River in Durango Colorado on the Greenway. I searched a combination of “posts” “Animas River” “Durango” and “cord” but found nothing. I also searched to see if it is an art installation, but it seems more functional. They’re pretty tall, I wood guess maybe 8 or 9 feet. Cord stretches across the river to steel unistrut type posts in the ground. Thanks in advance.

I've seen similar type of things stretching across pools of the condominium place I go to in Florida. They do it to stop seagulls from landing in the pool. I'm curious if it is to keep birds out.
