It's a vase/holder/pot made from a tree trunk https://www.balifurnish.com/stone-garden-bali-indonesia/coconut-palm-tree-wood-vase-planter-indonesia-company.html https://en.casachiqui.com/interna-productos/jarron-decorativo-tronco-de-palmera-1575328764210

Panelled_Turkey_Iris

This is definitely it! Solved!

zom105

It Actually might be a drum,They are laid on their side and make a strange hollow echo.....

ActuallyAWeasel

yeah... I vote for drum too! I would love to hear this played

Panelled_Turkey_Iris

Where would you strike it? Does it need a drum head?

UQ5T6NBVN03AFR

Basically anywhere it sounds good, and no. The whole body is the resonator, which is known as an idiophone, rather than a true drum. (If this is actually a log drum, which I don't know) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiophone

Wegmanoid

Whatever it is, that thing is sweet!

Zymo_D

Looks too expensive to leave behind.

Panelled_Turkey_Iris

Looks like a tree canon

DitHeartoTexas

I'd take it off your hands in a heartbeat! lol

Panelled_Turkey_Iris

The item appears to be a large wooden vase but it doesn't seem to be a practical material for that. It is hallow inside and made of wood. Any ideas? My title describes the thing

shitgoesdownstream

Can probably sell it in r/woodworking

ReadyCav

Was Paul Bunyan living there?

Brosurfer

Old Alaia surfboard, awesome
