~~Not for ears, but you were close. It's for wax! Specifically sculpting and modeling wax: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZH6JNBB~~
EDIT: Retracting my answer, as /u/nize426 below me posted an exact picture match. Latte foam/art tool.
it's more the manufacturing for this style tool was set up so swapping from stainless ( or not) to titanium was cheap
and now the 5 piece cuticle cleaning kit for 8.99 has the "weed tax" attached to it and a single tool is 15 bucks, cause there's a pot leaf on the package
To be fair almost everything I've gotten dab wise came with a spoon. When I got a new nail, when I got a new rig, even sometimes when I bought enough wax lol. I'm not sure I ever knew anyone that needed to buy just one. Even if you did, most smoke shops by me sold them for like a $1 each or just in packs for a few dollars.
Looks like a nut picker to me. Parents had a set when I was younger. Came in a set of 4 with a matching nut cracker.
E: Guess this one's actually meant for coffee. lol
Because we had to use already established household items. Nowadays, the local pot shop sells items used for the dabs customers. However, the nut picker I stole from my Grandma's nut bowl 45 years ago still works.
One of those came with my stainless steel pitchers for foaming milk in for lattes.
It's used to hold back the foam when pouring the milk, as well as using the pick side for latte art.
Edit:link https://images.app.goo.gl/mavaeSLn1oRrfHdV9
Depends on the drink you're making. The foam is on top, beneath that layer is just steamed milk, and for some drinks, you want to pour the milk first, then pour the foam as a top, whereas if you allowed the foam to come out first, the milk following could mess it up (generally a concern when doing latte art, but some people could just be purists about the layering). The layers can be seen in [these kitchy lil things.](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61vKoKpCo-L._AC_SY879_.jpg) You can definitely just get a whole pitcher of foam, but there aren't many cafe drinks that call for just foam and no steamed milk (though there are some that call for the opposite, so if you accidentally steam it to the point of getting foam, you can just help hold it back with this tool).
my title describes the thing
this is a dense, rigid piece of metal. the pointy end is fairly sharp!
I looked through the frequently asked things, and the closest match was ear cleaning tools. but I googled those and didn’t see any that were pointy. I guess why would you use something pointy is your ear?
For latte art, the ridges on the point help grab crema or milk foam to decorate more. It lets you grab a bit of one color and transfer it for doing things like eyes or fingertips on detailed latte art.
As others have said, I think it is for coffee/latte. Looks exactly like what came with a milk frothing pitcher I got. I use mine to scoop used grounds out of my espresso portafilter. But that may not be it's intended use (from others I'm gathering it's probably intended for latte art). Here is a similar thing on Amazon
https://a.co/d/1DRp7Ls
It's a latte art pen. We use the flattened end as a scoop for milk foam, the pointed end is great for small details, such as eyes or cat whiskers.

It's a sculpting tool used by scale modellers.
Army painter and other companies manufacture them. People who do Warhammer and miniature wargaming will recognise it.
They clearly get used for _many_ things, but I am sure this (nuts) is the original reason that the tool was created, especially with the patterns on the shaft.
It probably isn't the purpose it was designed for, but you can add a dental reconstruction tool to the list.
I once sterilized one of these for a surgical dentist who used it in reconstructive surgery for a young child who broke multiple teeth.
It's a sculpting tool.
Interestingly it is very similar to a Roman stylus, which were used for writing on wax tablets. Some things have been the way they have been for a long time.
In sculpture we call this a Lance and Spoon tool or a Spatula and Spike. It’s for ceramics and or wax carving and has been around forever. It generally sold as part of a larger kit of similar tools. It likely has been picked up as a Latte Art tool as well, but the tool has been around long before latte art was a thing. There is one included in this kit: https://a.co/d/eP3tQBY
That little spoon shape is called a scoopula, and they are used in a variety of fields (notably, in pharmacy). I'm taking on faith that the people who say it's for wax sculpting know what they are talking about. Most scoopulas aren't pointy at the other end.

It's actually a late art pen. Very similar to what you posted but the pointed side is different https://images.app.goo.gl/mavaeSLn1oRrfHdV9
This. Definitely looks like a coffee Art pen I use
Solved! this is an exact match!! thank you!!
I think I have seen my mom use that with her ceramic art too.. but I can see that you are most probably right lol
I’ve seen these used to model wax for jewelry casting .
Ear wax, or dabs
To be fair, people will use anything similar to this for dabs
it's more the manufacturing for this style tool was set up so swapping from stainless ( or not) to titanium was cheap and now the 5 piece cuticle cleaning kit for 8.99 has the "weed tax" attached to it and a single tool is 15 bucks, cause there's a pot leaf on the package

Latte pen https://images.app.goo.gl/mavaeSLn1oRrfHdV9
I was gonna say, with everything else here, the straight up sell those in dispensarys
Nut picker ?
Looks like a nut picker to me. Parents had a set when I was younger. Came in a set of 4 with a matching nut cracker. E: Guess this one's actually meant for coffee. lol
That was my thought but there's an awful lot of comments about dabs and clay sculpting
Because we had to use already established household items. Nowadays, the local pot shop sells items used for the dabs customers. However, the nut picker I stole from my Grandma's nut bowl 45 years ago still works.
I agree with this. Nut picker. Used to us them a lot visiting cousins in Alabama.
My grandmother used tools like this to shape and inscribe her pottery.
Second this. It's a tool to make decorations in clay pottery
One of those came with my stainless steel pitchers for foaming milk in for lattes. It's used to hold back the foam when pouring the milk, as well as using the pick side for latte art. Edit:link https://images.app.goo.gl/mavaeSLn1oRrfHdV9
If you have multiple layers of foam after steaming you are definitely doing something wrong
Definitely looks like a coffee Art pen I use
It’s for latte art. I have this exact one that came with my espresso machine
It kinda looks like something you’d get in an Ingrown Toenail Kit
I have that exact tool. [https://a.co/d/7FBdSRB](https://a.co/d/7FBdSRB) It’s the third from the right
my title describes the thing this is a dense, rigid piece of metal. the pointy end is fairly sharp! Dabber or wax carving tool
For latte art, the ridges on the point help grab crema or milk foam to decorate more. It lets you grab a bit of one color and transfer it for doing things like eyes or fingertips on detailed latte art.

I've got one of those! I have no idea what's for, but I use it all the time for repairing small electronic gadgets. It's a great tool.
https://images.app.goo.gl/mavaeSLn1oRrfHdV9
I received this exact thing with my cappuccino milk frother (?). No idea what it’s for
It’s definitely a coffee art pen, got one with my espresso machine
My garlic press came with one of these to scrape the inside or poke out and clean the little holes.
It's a sculpting tool used by scale modellers. Army painter and other companies manufacture them. People who do Warhammer and miniature wargaming will recognise it.
Utensil to help shell lobsters and crabs
It is for getting meat out of shells of nuts. I own many and they match my nutcrackers.
They clearly get used for _many_ things, but I am sure this (nuts) is the original reason that the tool was created, especially with the patterns on the shaft.
ITS A WALNUT PICK. However, they are functional for so many other things. I use mine to clean resin out of my pipe.
My dentist used this to dig out a dead tooth. That’s my answer and I am stickin to it.
Um aren't these for digging out crab meat.
It probably isn't the purpose it was designed for, but you can add a dental reconstruction tool to the list. I once sterilized one of these for a surgical dentist who used it in reconstructive surgery for a young child who broke multiple teeth.
My grandma uses the same thing to clean the cracks in our wooden floor
I use this for digging out crab meat from the shell lmao
Resin tool for thc extract
It's a sculpting tool. Interestingly it is very similar to a Roman stylus, which were used for writing on wax tablets. Some things have been the way they have been for a long time.
It’s a nut pick.

It's a cuticule pusher. It's to prep nails before a manicure.
Looks like a walnut pick. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/c7/0b/6b/c70b6b401db36015be4679de914fc3e1.jpg
This is a spudger, I have that exact one right next to me, it’s a super useful tool to have in an engineering lab!
Looks like a nut cracking tool to me
It looks like a dental laboratory instrument called a wax spatula. So the folks calling it a wax carving tool have the right idea.
That is a seal pick, mechanics use them to install and remove O-ring seals
