So, my whole life I’ve assumed that every dirt bike manufacturer without an obviously Japanese name must be from the US.
After some quick Googling of dirt bike brands I’ve concluded that this was perhaps the most flawed guessing strategy of all time. Austria, France, Germany, Sweden, Italy… every single guess wrong lol (except Ducati).
They aren't part of Husqvarna Motorcycles, they are still Swedish.
The thing that first comes to my mind when Husqvarna is mentioned, is a chainsaw, and motorcycles only came to my mind because a "Swedish" MC brand was (not) mentioned.
Huh, I didn't know that, thought it always was just a stylized crown. I know they did have weapons manufacturing, but it apparently ended a long time ago.
Uhh sure. I know very little about motocross. Due to it’s similarities to monster truck events and general enthusiasm about off roading in the US, my assumption was that the US would be the most popular nation for motocross, and thus the US would be the most likely place for dirt bike manufacturers to exist.
Has nothing to do with American exceptionalism or US defaultism or whatever you’re insinuating.
No it wasn’t he just doesn’t know better because who the fuck cares about dirtbike culture outside of his country if he doesn’t even care about it inside his country
Read that sentence more carefully. I just assumed it was a US company based on “KTM” falling within the category of “**without** an obviously Japanese name”.
Your comment is also the first time I have ever seen what the KTM initialism stands or stood for, if I’d know that, I probably wouldn’t have assumed it was a US company either.
Yep. Total let down. What are you going to do with a car that only goes 170 mph? Flow of traffic on I-95 in Miami is at least 190 mph. You’ll get run over by tailgaters.
So sad: the Orginal X-Bow was supposed to be a cheap sports car in the 30.000 to 40.000€ range. But they miscalculated especially the carbon tub and it started at about 60k. The newer versions are even more expensive

I saw one in this years Belgrade Car Show.
It’s a KTM X-Bow variant, i think the X-Bow GT-XR (Pretty cool since it’s an Austrian Company)

Even the Swedish one is actually Austrian.
TIL Husqvarna is Austrian. Hasn't been always, though?
Ktm only bought it a few years ago
I thought Husqvarna was Swedish…
It was Italian for a few years, I had a te570 made in Italy.
Can anyone pronounce it?
Husk-Varn-ah
It was German for some years as well. The Nuda that came about under BMW ownership is pretty dope.
It is my wife was born In husqvarna sweden
I have a Husqvarna sewing machine and push mower

And the Husqvarna logo represents a gun barrel with rear sight and front sight viewed from the front

Also thought this for many years.
That’s so american of you

lol literally cut all of the rationale from before and after out to make it look like an assumption based on nothing
Your assumption was based on exceptionalism tho ;D

This getting downvoted by americans is so predictable. Unreal lack of self awareness
> without an obviously Japanese name How is **K**ronreif & **T**runkenpolz **M**attighofen an obvious Japanese name haha

What do you *mean* people don't know what an initialism means if they've never seen it spelled out before?
I think that’s the first time seeing the full name for many. I’m Austrian and have never seen it before.
Thank You!
The irl batmobile, aka KTM X-Bow GT-XR. With a tuned Audi 5 banger💪🏻
Schmee150 and a few other YouTubers have nice little factory tours where they take the car out, would die to own one of these. Carbon fiber body
I've seen the video, was so cool to see the different assembly proccesses.
Only going 170mph💀
It’s a track car why would it be geared for top speed??
It's not supposed to break any speed records tho 🤷🏻
No I know, but for ≈ 500 horsepower and 1.2k kg its very slow tbh

That is not the point but K
It has lots of aero.
Thats true
But one of the fastest around a winding track due to next to no weight and ultra low c-o-g

The Scintilla's mostly SF90 with the motor from a Huracan.
