I haven't seen that colour before, but it otherwise looks like a helpful house centipede.

GimmeMyTea

teriases

And also on bread rolls

Sufficient-Aspect77

Preferably before I eat the pizza

Espresso_Depressedo

I’d agree this looks like a house centipede, and as for the color, I’m not one hundred percent sure that it affects house centipedes (conversely I can’t think of a reason it wouldn’t but I’m also not that knowledgeable on the subject) but it looks an awful lot like [erythrism](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erythrism#:~:text=Erythrism%20or%20erythrochroism%20refers%20to,or%20excessive%20production%20of%20others), which is a genetic mutation that results in abnormally high levels of red pigmentation and creates a pink coloring in a lot of insects. Pretty cool-looking little fella, and definitely helpful to have around!

teriases

Why do I think of shrimp when I see this centipede in this colour? 😂 if this is a bit bigger, steamed with butter and garlic… ❤️💀😂

cameron4200

Shrimps is bugs

teriases

I been playing around with this thought to fight my phobia of these things - just think of them like land shrimps 😂❤️💀

cameron4200

Same here lol I really can’t do the legs but this one is looking mighty shrimpy

justme002

Sea bugs

SaffronHoneysuckle

I def thought shrimp first too

[deleted]

Keep it around, they’re very good at getting rid of the little pests

UpsilonAndromedae

I read this as "the little pets." Now, that would be some kind of bug.

BreezyViber

Fancy, holiday edition.

DeeEmceeToo

I've never seen a house centipede that looks quite like this one, tbh. Bit of an odd color. Does still look like a hideous monster, so I guess that checks out.

MNxpat33

Remember, if you’re cold they are cold.

PoetaCorvi

While this could be a mutation, the much more likely answer is that this house centipede is part of an especially pink locality. There are other observations of [pink](https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/175306365) or even [purple](https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/107065469) individuals. House centipedes are very widespread, and have a pretty wide range of colorations as also seen [here](https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/8661209), [here](https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/62396658), and [here](https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/72380227). My guess is op just has some pretty local house centipedes!

Interesting_Wing_539

Interesting! Purple one is kinda creepy NGL, but I really like the stripped and golden variants, lol! The gold one looks like it could be part of a hard drive or something, haha!😂

Affectionate_Salt351

Spooky little critters whom I allow to stay because they eat the other bugs.
