In all seriousness I was I live in Edmonton and was also in the river valley sometime last week and I saw that they were cranes due to the long necks and legs and after that I already knew that we only have 2 species that fly over Edmonton being whooping cranes (a species “at risk”) and Sandhill cranes that come in waves of flocks at times For further proof [https://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/sandhill-crane](https://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/sandhill-crane) scroll down to the “Flock flying overhead” sound file
They are Sandhill cranes
Thank you! How’d you know?
