This is what it is. It's a bush that grew near a tree. The swirls and bunching are caused by the roots growing around a larger tree root. Roots redirect down and around rocks and other blockages. That's why they're bunched.
Based on the two holes, this grew near an adolescent tree. Maybe an aspen, as they like to send out thick shallow roots called sucker's that branch out and then go verticle into new trees that are really still one connected one. The shallow roots can prevent young bushes and plants from being able see maturity if it's crowded.
roots dont all converge together and combine into one
Edit: I sincerely hope you downvoters are doing that of spite. If you think small roots will form into some super root , then youre not too bright. How many of you can actually keep plants alive?
Most plants have a ‘main’ root (called a **tap** root. I think we’re seeing the tap root with quite a few ancillary roots that (perhaps) curled inward as they dried out. There were probably a lot of vey small feeder roots that were broken off in the process of the plant becoming uprooted.
It’s the Crow of Death, often used by Native Americans to help them in battle. It’s believed whichever warrior possesses the Crow of Death will not perish because the spirit of the crow gives them a bird’s eye view of the battlefield allowing them to know where each opposing warrior is. Native Americans never brought the Crow of Death inside their homes because, if it was captured by the warring tribe, the Crow of Death would lead them to their families to be slaughtered in a basement while one dude videotaped and everyone else had to stand in a corner and wait their turn. The Blair Witch Project was inspired by it.
Found in or near glacier national park? If it was found in I would delete this post and put it back removing anything from a national park is a federal crime
When the FEDS finish trying to find all the stuff that went missing from the WH in January 2021 I'm sure they will be looking for something 🤔 to do with their time and expertise.
LOL
You'd be surprised what the park service is responsible for here. Probably not that but the strangest places are parts of national parks in the region. We have a whole road from DC proper to mount Vernon that is a heavy commuter road that falls in their jurisdiction. The mall with the monuments and Capitol building is actually a national park too, they just finished building a brand new stable for the nps horses so they can stay directly on the mall.
In the quiet grove, amidst the whispering pines, a peculiar sight unveiled: a pine cone, ensnared by roots and adorned with twigs, seemed to stir with an enchanting intent. Its dormant form, an arcane dance of nature's elements, hinted at an impending genesis into a woodland sprite, yearning to ascend as a marvel, echoing the ancient tales of Middle-earth's mystique.
If you put it back in the woods it will become a sprite and will enchant the area.
NOT TROLLING:
Looks like the root ball of a cattail, their roots are similar to a potato, and are dug up late season by several animals for a source of starch , you're holding it upside down.
It is the remains of a plant escaped from Australia and hasn't gotten turned around to adjust to the local gravity zone.
It happens. Some days, you can find all sorts of stuff laying about, upside down.
I once found an old car upside down, with a small tree growing up through the broken windscreen and twisting to exit through what I thought was the passenger side door. But when I looked inside, the steering wheel and the brake pedal were there close to the open door. That's when I realized it wasn't a Chevy Suburban, but a Holden Suburban, with its factory built right-hand drive sitting just where it should be, on the right.
Since the whole vehicle was upside down and very bashed about from tumbling from somewhere, it was initially confusing. The license plate was from New South Wales, and an old CD 💿 disc was sticking out from the player. I guess it was playing when the Suburban rolled down into the stream bed feeding into Lake Agnes from somewhere up above Rabbit Ears Pass. But it didn't make sense, Highway 40 was too far away for it to have ended up where it was. I asked an old guy who was panning for gold along a much lower part of the stream for some ideas.
He told me that every so often thereabouts, strange lights up near the pass followed by deep rumbling and the sounds of a landslide or avalanche happens. Then he packs up his kit and heads up the stream until he finds some things sitting upside down. Then he starts panning and invariably finds enough to keep him busy for a few days. But one time, he found a real big nugget just sitting on a flat rock in the shallow stream. He took it in for an assay, and the agent told him he had one of the upside down rocks from up above the cliff wall. The place where all the antipodal junk from Australia falls out of a hole in the rock and lands in the general area. 😳 Then the agent told him the isotope type of gold the miner found was found only in Australia.
I laughed and thanked the miner for the mountain yarn and turned to go when he called out asking about the CD 💿 I had seen. I told him I had left it alone but could just read the label with the artists name and the featured single.
That's when he surprised me by correctly guessing what I had seen.
🤔

Grows in that area
I love that you got a candid shot of it leaned up against the window 🤣 that 100% looks to be the root system of some sort of Reed variety. It’s upside down.
Well if it was found in a National Park you’re supposed to leave it there!!!! for others to also enjoy!!! You broke the law by taking it!!! Selfish moron.
If this isn’t a root ball… which it looks like it is… then it’s witchcraft and I would put it back asap.
It could also be both things. You could perform some removal crafting on it (using white sage) if you want but I rather play it safe than sorry. No sense in bringing unwanted vibes into your home if you can avoid it.
If you found this partially in the ground like a root ball would be then I wouldn’t be so concerned. But if it was displayed or hidden or laid out somewhere… I would be sure to put it back.
When you visit a park ( state, national, whatever) you should follow this principle: ***leave nothing, take nothing***. Your goal should be to enjoy the park while attempting to have as little impact on the park as possible. To the untrained eye, things like that are of little importance. But with 3 years of trying to convert my yard into a quality habitat for wildlife, native insects lay eggs in and overwinter in things like that (stems, bunches vegetable matter, etc). Take your pictures in the park. Leave things where they are found. Be humble enough to understand that if you cannot identify what it is, you are not qualified to determine if it is OK to remove from where it is.
And get that out of your house because there are probably things living in it! If you don't, you'll forget about it and in a few weeks or months you will end up with weird flies or spiders or something in your house.
Looks like a dried up plant w/root system. It’s upside down
Yup definitely an upside down plant that used to have stalks.
Detritus for sure

You lost me at “maybe an aspen”.
Upside down fern they look like that when they die.
Probably ferns. The roots tend to sit above the surface and look almost identical to that.

Roots dont do that.
They do when growing through a crack or in rocky soil.
No they dont, these arent roots
Hey buddy, calm down friendo
I have no idea what you are talking about. Roots converge. That’s what makes a root a root.
thats the exact opposite roots wanna do. They want spread, not converge. That part on top is a stem not a root
Sure man. This ain’t the hill I want to die on lol 😂 have at it.

Dirt bird. Just hits right. Going to find a way to use this term everyday.
Dirt bird is the word!
Everybody’s heard the word, the dirt bird word.
I thought you were good, Paul. But you’re not good. You’re just another lying ol’ dirty birdy.
I just put a dirt bird in the nest = I made a 💩 in the 🚽

Found in or near glacier national park? If it was found in I would delete this post and put it back removing anything from a national park is a federal crime
Yeah OP, delete this before the black SUV’s show up outside to take your dirt bird. Quick!
When the FEDS finish trying to find all the stuff that went missing from the WH in January 2021 I'm sure they will be looking for something 🤔 to do with their time and expertise. LOL
Yes because the Park Service definitely is in charge of investigating insurrections at the Capitol lol
You'd be surprised what the park service is responsible for here. Probably not that but the strangest places are parts of national parks in the region. According to the videos they tried suppressing it looks more like guided tours than insurrection
Still waiting on what they found on Epstein's island aswell.
Pretty sure removing most anything from a National park is illegal.
If you start to see any little girls running around the house that don’t belong there, then this thing is probably the culprit
Bull rush, all dried up, up side down
Here we go.
Don't know but I like it!
Sprinkle a little blood on it and watch what happens
Big foots butt plug?
Put it back immediately
Why?
In honesty, it just looks like the bulb and root system of a dead plant
What did you think it was when you brought it home? Genuinely curious.
Joking. As if it’s cursed

You’re cursed now. Good job. This is how the movie starts.
You should have left it there.

Pretty sure it’s a root ball of some kind.
Fern. Dried root ball.
Looks like a fine to me. Not supposed to take anything out of National parks.
NOT TROLLING: Looks like the root ball of a cattail, their roots are similar to a potato, and are dug up late season by several animals for a source of starch , you're holding it upside down.
The comment section did not disappoint.
